摘要： An apparatus for locating an object of interest using offset. The object may be a mobile platform, or portion of same, associated with a vehicle, or a pavement segment or feature of or on a pavement segment on which the mobile platform is located. The vehicle includes first and second fixed points having a known offset from each other. An image sensor whose field of view includes the second fixed point and a segment of the pavement surface provides image data which is used with the known offset to calculate the precise location of the object of interest.

摘要： Disclosed are pavement markers and a mobile highway marking apparatus for advancing in a forward direction along a paved surface of a highway for applying a paint stripe to the paved surface and applying pavement markers at intervals on the paint stripe. The marking apparatus includes a dispenser that is configured for moving a sequence of the pavement markers from the bottom of an upwardly extending stack of the pavement markers first in the forward direction and then down a sloped chute in a rearward direction to the paint stripe without turning the pavement markers over.

摘要： A plastic device, in the shape of a truncated dome, affixed to a pedestrian sidewalk, crosswalk or platform by use of a flexible Mylar layout grid and a drilled and glued insert location , placed to provide a tactile and visual alert to disabled persons as to the location and edge of a platform or walkway, where the sidewalk or walkway transitions to a roadway or elevation change. The device consist of a molded plastic “truncated dome”, with an integrally molded stem and a pre drilled Mylar mat positioning guide to ensure the truncated domes are installed with in the guidelines of the American's with Disabilities Act. The truncated domes will provide the correct tactile alignment, slip resistant surface, as well as the correct contrast in color between the truncated domes and substrate as required in the American's with Disabilities Act.

摘要： Apparatus and method for applying temporary raised pavement markers (TRPM) to roadway surfaces comprises a conveyor upon a wheeled vehicle wherein an upstream end portion of the conveyor is able to extend, for example, over the rear bed portion of a roadwork vehicle so as to permit an operator, stationed upon the bed portion of the roadwork vehicle, to deposit pavement markers upon the conveyor. A pair of wheel applicators are used for applying the temporary raised pavement markers (TRPMs) onto the roadway surface. A hitch mechanism is also used to provide hinged movement between the tow bar of the towed wheeled vehicle and the mounting bar of the towing roadwork vehicle so as to permit independent elevational movement of the towed wheeled vehicle relative to the towing roadwork vehicle.

摘要： An installation head is mounted on a vehicle and moves along and adjacent to a roadway as the vehicle moves along the roadway. The head has a loading station at the bottom of a vertical loading chamber and a slide that slides along a floor to move markers out of the loading station into a setting station. A setting ram forces markers down onto adhesive prepositioned on the roadway. A plurality of heads may be positioned on the vehicle and may form opposite rows for simultaneously installing markers on opposite sides of a traffic lane. An indexed marker that interlocks with adjacent markers to prevent tilting may be used to maximize the reliability of the system. Various types of delivery devices may be used to deliver markers to the loading station. These include a delivery platform or carrousel positioned above the loading chamber to deliver markers down into the loading chamber. They also include a collating tape that delivers markers into the loading chamber through a side opening.

A pair of motor-driven rotary gear pumps transfer resin and hardener from separate supply chambers to a mixing chamber from which the adhesive mixture is dispensed. One of the embodiments of the apparatus includes a pneumatic drive system for operating the pumps in a pulse-like fashion to dispense a metered quantity of the adhesive mixture. Each of the embodiments includes an improved hot water heating system for maintaining the resin and hardener in semi-fluid states in their respective storage chambers.

摘要： A marker setter is described that includes a magazine holding a plurality of stacked planar markers, each marker having a flag section and a post section with a distal tip; a marker extractor adapted to extract a marker from the stacked plurality of markers and convey the marker along a pathway to insert the tip of the marker into the ground, the marker extractor having a post inserter with a distal end; and a tip deflector adapted to bend the marker distal tip around the post setter distal end prior to insertion of the tip into the ground. The tip deflector includes a deflector plate pivotal between an initial position in the pathway of the marker tip and post inserter, and a forward position beneath the pathway, the deflector being moved to the forward position by the post inserter while bending the marker tip around the post inserter distal end.
