Abstract: The present disclosure includes embodiments of systems, methods, and computer readable media that enable a dynamic transportation system to detect when material has been left in a vehicle by a requestor. In some embodiments, the system detects the completion of the transportation request, analyzes data from a plurality of vehicle sensors, from a computing device associated with the vehicle, and from a computing device associated with the requestor, and then determines, based on the data analysis, that material has been left in the vehicle. The system then performs an action for handling the material based on one or more attributes of the material.

Abstract: Examples disclosed herein may involve a computing system that is operable to (i) identify, within a given period of operation of a vehicle having an associated sensor system for capturing sensor data, one or more times when the vehicle was driving in a lane having substantially-straight lane geometry, (ii) for each identified time, determine a respective measure of a lateral offset between the vehicle's associated sensor system and a lateral reference point of the vehicle, and (iii) based on the respective measure of the lateral offset that is determined for each of the one or more identified times, determine the lateral offset between the vehicle's associated sensor system and the lateral reference point of the vehicle.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving sensor data of an environment of the vehicle generated by one or more sensors of the vehicle, the sensors comprising a camera, identifying, based on the sensor data, one or more objects in a field of view of the camera and one or more object types that correspond to the one or more objects, determining one or more target histograms that correspond to the object types, generating a processed image based on an image captured by the camera, wherein the processed image has a histogram based on the target histograms, and using the processed image to determine state information associated with the objects. The processed image may be generated by processing the image captured by the camera using a histogram matching algorithm to generate the histogram of the processed image based on the target histograms.
