Abstract:
A tubular hydrocarbon adsorption trap includes a fuel vapor permeable porous media sheet which is circularly wrapped around to form a circumferentially closed elongated tubular body having at least one interior chamber in which the hydrocarbon vapor adsorbent media is arranged. Opposing longitudinal edges of the wrapped media sheet are secured by ultrasonic welding or other means to securely close the circumference of the tubular body. The tubular body is closed on the top and bottom longitudinal edges to retain hydrocarbon vapor adsorbent media within. A method of manufacturing the tubular hydrocarbon adsorption trap is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of locating and holding one or more sheets of air permeable media within an injection mold tool and holding the location until the mold tool engaged and holds media sheets, as well as molding a support frames encapsulating the media sheets to form a unitary encapsulated filtration product.
Abstract:
A system for injection molding a part includes a plate, first and second primary mold slides, first and second secondary mold slides and at least a first core post. The first and second primary mold slides define an exterior of a first portion of a molded part and are movable relative to each other between an open position and a closed position. The first and second secondary mold slides define an exterior of a second portion of the molded part and are movable relative to each other between an open position and a closed position. A first core post defines an interior of the first portion of the molded part. The first and second secondary mold slides are operative to secure the molded part as the first and second primary mold slides are moved from their closed position to their open position, as the molded part is expanded under a source of pressurized air and as the first core post is withdrawn from an interior of the molded part.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to various apparatus for controllably restricting an air flow to a vacuum controlled actuator in a vehicle induction system for the purpose of controlling a response of the actuator. In one embodiment the apparatus is a hose component having a hose that forms a flow channel, and which has an air flow restrictor seated within the flow channel. The air flow restrictor has a main body portion and an end wall having a reduced diameter air flow aperture. The air flow restrictor restricts air flow through the hose by a predetermined degree to tailor a response of the actuator in flow communication with the hose.
