Abstract:
A computer-implemented method for facilitating a payment transaction wherein a cardholder purchases an item from a merchant on behalf of a buyer is provided. The method includes receiving proposal data from a buyer computing device, wherein the proposal data includes at least one of an identification of an item proposed for purchase, a particular merchant, and a merchant purchase price. The method also includes receiving a selection message from the buyer computing device, wherein the selection message indicates a selected cardholder chosen to purchase the item on behalf of a buyer using a merchant payment card associated with the particular merchant. The method also includes reserving, by the computing device, at least the merchant purchase price and a cardholder processing fee associated with the merchant payment card in a buyer account. The method also includes transferring funds from the buyer account to a selected cardholder account, the funds determined at least in part by the merchant purchase price and the cardholder processing fee.

Abstract:
Systems and methods herein provide limited credit accounts from social networks to recipient users having social network accounts at the social networks, in response to network requests by sender users to transfer funds to the recipient users through the social networks. One exemplary method includes receiving a request to transfer an amount of funds from a sender user to a recipient user, where the sender user and the recipient user both have social network accounts at a social network, and generating a score for the fund transfer based on at least a transaction history associated with the sender user. The method also includes determining whether the score satisfies a threshold and, when the score satisfies the threshold, generating a virtual card number (VCN) for the recipient user, wherein the VCN is associated with a credit line based on the amount of funds included in the request.
Abstract:
A method for verification of user identity includes: storing account profiles, each profile including data related to a user account of a non-financial institution (NFI) entity including an account identifier and an address; receiving a transaction request, the request including a specific account identifier and a transaction amount; identifying an account profile including the specific account identifier; generating a controlled payment number associated with a transaction account of the NFI entity; transmitting a notification to a third party entity including the specific account identifier; transmitting the controlled payment number to a user associated with the user account related to the specific account profile; receiving a data message from the third party entity including the specific account identifier and identification data associated with the user; and updating the specific account profile to include the controlled payment number, the identification data, and a spending limit based on the transaction amount.
Abstract:
A credit account is established for a merchant. A variable credit limit is set for the credit account. An indication is received that the merchant has accepted a payment account transaction to be charged to a customer's payment account. A transaction amount may be associated with the payment account transaction. The indication may also indicate that the payment account transaction has been authorized by an issuer of the customer's payment account. There may be a response in real time to the indication by instantaneously increasing the variable credit limit for the merchant's credit account by an amount that corresponds to the transaction amount.
