Abstract:
A method, executed by a User Equipment (UE) communicatively connected to a mobile communication network, is provided. The method may include the following steps: receiving a first 5G Session Management (5GSM) message including one mapped Evolved Packet System (EPS) bearer context for an inter-system change from the mobile communication network; determining whether the mapped EPS bearer context has invalid or missing parameters; and sending a second 5GSM message to the mobile communication network to delete the mapped EPS bearer context in response to the mapped EPS bearer context has one or more invalid or missing parameters.
Abstract:
A method can include receiving a non-access stratum (NAS) message for establishing or modifying a protocol data unit (PDU) session at a user equipment (UE) from a core network, determining whether there is a quality of service (QoS) flow description resulting from the establishment or modification of the PDU session that is associated with a guaranteed bit rate (GBR) QoS flow of the PDU session, and invalid, and when it is determined that there is the invalid QoS flow description associated with the GBR QoS flow of the PDU session, performing an error handling operation.
Abstract:
A method for synchronizing evolved packet system (EPS) bearer context status between a user equipment (UE) and a network can include locally deactivating an EPS bearer context of a packet data network (PDN) connection at the UE while the UE operates in S1 mode without notifying the network serving the UE, wherein interworking to a fifth generation system (5GS) is supported for the deactivated EPS bearer context, and upon inter-system change from S1 mode to N1 mode, including an EPS bearer context status information element (IE) in a registration request message indicating which EPS bearer contexts are active in the UE before the inter-system change.
Abstract:
A UE determines a set of RATs available in accordance with a first subscriber identity associated with a first network and a second subscriber identity associated with a second network. When the set includes a first RAT accessing a base station in the first network, a second RAT accessing a base station in the second network, and a third RAT accessing an access point of a WLAN, the UE selects, in a first performance configuration, the first RAT to establish a first call under the first subscriber identity. The UE further communicates, under the first subscriber identity, with a first IMS server of the first network through the first RAT to establish the first call. The UE maintains, under the second subscriber identity, a connection with a second IMS server of the second network through the first RAT or the third RAT when the first call is active.
Abstract:
A User Equipment (UE) including a wireless transceiver and a controller is provided. The wireless transceiver performs wireless transmission and reception to and from a service network. The controller receives a response message of a Non-Access Stratum (NAS) procedure for establishing or modifying a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session from the service network via the wireless transceiver, and determines that Reflective Quality of Service (RQoS) is not applied for the PDU session in response to the response message including an RQoS timer (RQ timer) value set to zero or deactivated.
Abstract:
Aspects of the disclosure provide an electronic apparatus and a method for wireless communication. The electronic apparatus can include processing circuitry. The processing circuitry can send one or more packet data unit (PDU) session release requests to a wireless communication network system to request a PDU session release procedure. In an embodiment, a timer is used for the one or more PDU session release requests. The processing circuitry can determine whether a network response is received from the wireless communication network system before the timer expires and whether a number of times that the timer expires reaches a predetermined number of times. The processing circuitry can locally release the PDU session when the network response is not received and the number of times that the timer expires reaches the predefined number of times.
Abstract:
Aspects of the disclosure provide a processing circuit in an electronic apparatus and a method to switch the electronic apparatus during an inter-system handover (HO) process from a source network system to a target network system. The processing circuit can include an inter-system HO signal processing module and a mapping module. The inter-system HO signal processing module can be configured to obtain a mapping relationship between a set of source bearers associated with the source network system and a first set of target bearers associated with the target network system based on quality of service (QoS) characteristics associated with the set of source bearers and the first set of target bearers. The mapping module can be configured to obtain a second set of target bearers based on resources allocated to the first set of target bearers by the target network system and to obtain a third set of target bearers that is based on the first and second set of target bearers.
Abstract:
A method for reducing power consumption when a communications apparatus establishes voice communications with another communications apparatus includes estimating a voice quality perceived by a user of the another communications apparatus; determining whether the estimated voice quality is higher than a predetermined threshold; and adjusting at least one parameter utilized for processing a plurality of voice packets to be transmitted to the another communications apparatus according to the estimated voice quality to reduce the power consumption when the estimated voice quality is higher than the predetermined threshold.
Abstract:
A User Equipment (UE) including a wireless transceiver and a controller is provided. The wireless transceiver performs wireless transmission and reception to and from a first service network utilizing a first RAT or a second service network utilizing a second RAT. The controller sends an indicator of a connection release request to the first service network via the wireless transceiver in response to terminating a first communication service with the first service network or in response to leaving the first service network for the second service network. Also, the controller releases a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection with the first service network after sending the indicator of the connection release request.
Abstract:
Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses. The method can include receiving, at a user equipment (UE), system information broadcast from one or more base stations which may be shared by one or more PLMNs and/or one or more SNPNs, the system information including an indication of whether accessing an SNPN using home service provider (HSP) subscription of a HSP network is supported. The UE can be configured with subscription information of the HSP network. The subscription information can include the HSP subscription and a selection list that includes one or more candidate networks each represented by an SNPN identifier. The method can further include responsive to the system information, selecting a network from the selection list according to a priority order of the candidate networks, and accessing the network selected from the selection list using the HSP subscription.
