    摘要: A communication device includes a processor subsystem that is in communication with a communication module, which is communicatively coupled to a millimeter wave (mmWave) antenna array to transmit and receive signals. The processor subsystem executes a computer program product of a near-field detection application in memory to perform a method. The mmWave antenna array transmits an mmWave signal that is swept across a range of frequencies and receives any back-scattered signals in the range of frequencies. The processor subsystem determines whether a near-field obstruction exists based on magnitude and phase characteristics of the received back-scattered signals. In response to determining that a near-field obstruction exists, the processor subsystem perform a selected one of: (i) altering a transmission beam transmitted by the communication device; and (ii) triggering an application to execute on the communication device, the application intended to interact with a user of the communication device.

    摘要: A method and apparatus provide antenna array channel feedback. The method can include receiving, at a wireless terminal, a set of channel state information reference signals. The method can include determining a precoding matrix based on the received set of channel state information reference signals. The precoding matrix can have a representation in terms of three components. The first component of the three components can be determined from a first set of vectors. The second component of the three components can be determined from a first set of parameters. The third component of the three components can be determined from a second set of parameters. The second set of parameters can be a set of unit-magnitude scalars. The method can include transmitting, by the wireless terminal, a representation of at least one of the first component, the second component, and the third component.

    摘要: A communication device includes a processor subsystem that is in communication with a communication module, which is communicatively coupled to an antenna array to transmit and receive signals. The processor subsystem executes a near-field detection application to perform a method including transmitting, via the antenna array, a signal that is swept across a range of frequencies and receiving any back-scattered signals in the range of frequencies. The method includes determining whether a near-field obstruction exists based on characteristics of the received back-scattered signals. In response to determining that a near-field obstruction exists, the method includes triggering the processor subsystem to perform one or more responsive operations on the communication device. The operations include a selected one of: (i) altering a transmission beam transmitted by the communication device; and (ii) triggering an application to execute on the communication device, the application intended to interact with a user of the communication device.

    摘要: Disclosed are methods for offloading of communication traffic from a cellular network to a Wireless Local Area Network (“WLAN”). According to various implementations, a wireless device determines a time period during which a wireless channel of the WLAN is busy. This first time period may include multiple channel-busy periods separated by periods during which the channel is not busy. The wireless device determines a second time period that represents interframe spacings associated with the first time period. The wireless device determines a modified channel utilization for the wireless channel based on the first time period and on the second time period. The wireless device reports the modified channel utilization to the cellular network.

    摘要: The present disclosure sets forth multiple embodiments of the invention. Among those embodiments is a method for determining a maximum power reduction of an uplink signal. The uplink signal is transmitted on a carrier that has a range of frequencies. Frequencies outside of the carrier frequency range include adjacent channel regions. Resource blocks of the carrier that have been allocated for use by to transmit the uplink signal are identified. A power spectral density is determined based on the identified resource blocks. A metric that is based on a third order convolution of the power spectral density function is determined. A maximum power reduction for the adjacent channel regions is also determined based on the metric.
