摘要:
Described are compounds covered by the generic structure. ##STR1## where one, two or all of R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are the same or different and each represents hydrogen or lower alkyl of from 1 up to 3 carbon atoms; a process for preparing same using compounds having the generic structure; ##STR2## where one of the dashed lines is a carbon-carbon double bond and the other of the dashed lines represents carbon-carbon single bonds and organoleptic uses thereof in perfumes, colognes, perfumed articles such as anionic, cationic and non-ionic detergents, cosmetic powders and dryer-added fabric softener articles, as well as in smoking tobaccos and smoking tobacco articles, e.g., the body of smoking tobacco, the wrapper or the filter therefor. Thus, the tricyclic ketone compounds of our invention, having the generic structure: ##STR3## impart, augment or enhance low-keyed oily, woody, amber, leathery, warm spice, earthy camphoraceous, patchouli-like, balsamic-like, green, cardamom-like, vetiver-like, sweet woody or minty nuances in or to perfumed compositions or perfumed articles or colognes. The tricyclic ketones of our invention further augment, enhance or impart sweet, floral, woody, spicy, leathery and amber aroma nuances to smoking tobacco prior to smoking and sweet aromas with natural tobacco taste and aroma nuances on smoking in the main stream and in the side stream.
摘要:

摘要:
A process for augmenting or enhancing the organoleptic properties of a consumable material such as soaps and detergents by admixing a substituted dimethyl dihydroxy benzene or cyclo-hexadiene.
摘要:
Described is a process for augmenting or enhancing the aroma or taste of a smoking tobacco comprising the step of intimately admixing an organoleptic property modifying quantity of a substituted dimethyl dihydroxy benzene or cyclohexadiene represented by the equilibrium mixture of a constituent thereof: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of acetyl having the structure: ##STR2## and nitrile having the structure:--C.tbd.N]and wherein the dashed line represents a carbon-carbon single bond or a carbon-carbon double bond with the proviso that when the dashed line represents a carbon-carbon single bond R.sub.1 is only nitrile with a material selected from the group consisting of tobacco and at least one other tobacco flavoring adjuvant; and smoking articles containing said smoking tobacco.
摘要:
Processes and compositions are described for the use in tobacco flavor and aroma and perfume aroma augmenting, modifying, enhancing and imparting compositions and as tobacco, perfume and perfumed article aroma imparting and augmenting materials of one or more substituted dimethyl dihydroxy benzene and/or cyclohexadiene compounds, represented either by the equilibrium mixture: ##STR1## (and other tautomers) or by one of the compounds which is a constituent of said equilibrium mixture, wherein the dashed line represents a carbon-carbon single bond or a carbon-carbon double bond and R.sub.1 is either acetyl having the structure: ##STR2## or nitrile having the structure: ##STR3## with the proviso that when the dashed line is a carbon-carbon single bond, R.sub.1 is only nitrile and when the dashed line is a carbon-carbon double bond, R.sub.1 is either nitrile or acetyl. Also described is the class of novel compounds represented either by the equilibrium mixture: ##STR4## (and other tautomers) or by one of the components of the equilibrium mixture wherein the dashed line is a carbon-carbon single bond or a carbon-carbon double bond. The above-mentioned compounds, taken alone or in combination, provide and/or enhance and/or enrich "Oak Moss" notes in perfumes such as "Mousse de Chene". These compounds also provide sweet, slightly woody, "Oak Moss"-like aromas in the mainstream and sidestream on smoking and prior to smoking in tobacco articles such as cigarettes and cigars.
