摘要: Methods and systems for configuring and installing a rendering device in communication with a computer network that includes one or more clients and one or more servers are disclosed. In general, a driver associated with a rendering device can be installed and configured based on driver data and associated information maintained with a central repository within the computer network. Such a methodology requires minimum user intervention. A user can select a rendering device for installation, which triggers automatic installation of the rendering device based on the best-possible rendering device installation mechanisms available. The appropriate driver and installation settings can then be downloaded and selected. The administrator controls which rendering device installation mechanisms are allowed on the computer network and which are not.

摘要: A port monitor allows a computer, digital camera, or other device to send a print job to a target printer, where the only known information about the printer is its network address. Communication is attempted to the network address, sequentially using each of a plurality of port numbers. If none of the plurality of port numbers is successful in initiating communication to the network address, communication to the network address is attempted using an LPR port number, sequentially using each of a plurality of LPR queue names.

摘要: Systems and methods for providing document services to users thereof. The methods involve: obtaining context information describing at least one aspect of a current situation of a user of a mobile communication device; receiving a request for a document service in response to a user software interaction at the mobile communication device; and adapting the document service based on the context information. The document service comprises a print service, a document conversion service, a document workflow service, a secure access service, or a web service. The obtaining, receiving and adapting steps are collectively performed by at least one of the mobile communication device and a computing device (e.g., a server) remotely located from the mobile communication device.

摘要: A method and system for automatically selecting an accurate job tracking source with respect to each rendering device. An output management solution in association with a device manager can be configured to include a device-based accounting source, a job tracking agent source, and a file import source. The job tracking data sources can be configured by an administrator and can be ranked within the device manager based on an accuracy setting. The device-based accounting source can be selected as the most accurate source upon detection of a built-in job tracking capability with respect to the multi-function device. The job tracking agent source and/or the file import source can be selected as the most accurate source if the built-in job tracking capability is not available. A historical job tracking database can be searched by the device manager in order to detect the job tracking agent source. A flag can be provided if the job tracking agent source is not available to indicate a gap in the job tracking agent coverage.

摘要: Apparatus are provided that include a mobile access notification service interface configured to operate on messages targeting a mobile access notification service so that a given message targeting a given user via the mobile access notification service causes a access notice indicator of the given user's mobile data communication device to visibly show when data from the given message is ready for access via one or more designated non-mobile access devices. The mobile access notification service interface includes an access notification trigger data detector configured to process and identify, from among plural messages originating at message source machines, access notification messages containing access notification trigger data. A mobile access notification service linking mechanism is configured to link access notification messages containing the access notification trigger data to access notice indicators on corresponding targeted user mobile data communication devices, to link the access notification messages to one or more non-mobile access devices for access of content of the access notification messages at those non-mobile access devices, and to communicate non-mobile access device access code information to the targeted users for controlled user access at the one or more non-mobile access devices.

摘要: A method starts when a print job is received from a workstation. The print job includes an identification of an initial printer. The method ranks the abilities of the available printers to process the print job to identify the best printer for the print job. If the initial printer is not ranked as the best printer, the method presents a question/statement to the workstation (to the user through the workstation) regarding whether to redirect the print job to the best printer.

摘要: A system and method for tracking a remote rendering job status within a network. A rendering job in association with address information of a desired rendering device can be transmitted to a mobile print server via a print job submission tool. A tracking email message including one or more action links with respect to the rendering job can be presented to a user in order to track the status of the rendering job. A command can be transmitted back to the mobile print server via an email message by accessing the action link provided in association with the tracking email message. Such an approach provides an effective print governance solution in a wide range of remote rendering applications.

摘要: Methods, systems and processor-readable media for extracting and classifying location information utilizing social media messages and/or data thereof. The social media messages can be sampled from a social media database and the messages filtered based on a heuristic rule. A geolocation entity from the unstructured social media messages can be extracted utilizing a geolocation entity extracting module. The messages with the geoentities can be uploaded onto a crowd sourcing platform to manually annotate the messages with a label. A text classification model can be built and learned from the label utilizing a machine learning algorithm and the messages can be classified by a location classifier in order to extract the user location. The user location can then be transformed into a geocode so that a spatial search can be enabled and the distance between the locations can be easily calculated.
