    摘要： An image forming apparatus comprises: an image forming unit to form an image onto a recording medium; a measuring unit to measure a density of the image formed on the recording medium; a controller to execute an image stabilizing control to decide image forming conditions of the image forming unit on the basis of the image density measured by the measuring unit; a heater to heat a load by supplying a current to the image forming apparatus; and a detector to detect a temperature of the load which is heated by the heater, wherein the controller controls the execution of the image stabilizing control in accordance with an output of the detector at the start of the power supply to the apparatus. When the detected temperature of the load is less than a predetermined value, the image stabilizing control is executed. When it is equal to or higher than the predetermined value, the image stabilizing control is not performed. When the image stabilizing control is executed, the control means allows the image forming unit to form a sample image and the image forming conditions are controlled on the basis of the state of the sample image.

    摘要： The present invention provides a fixing apparatus having a cleaning member for removing offset toner without damaging a roller surface, to thereby permit formation of a good image having no contamination and stripes for a long time. The cleaning member includes a base material, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 particles and polyester resin, and the Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 particles are dispersed in the polyester resin and the base material is coated by the polyester resin dispersing therein the Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 particles. The polyester resin dispersing therein the Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 particles and coating the base material is contacted with the roller surface to thereby remove offset toner from the roller surface.

    摘要： An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording member includes an unfixed image forming device for forming an unfixed image on the recording member, a fixing section which has a nip, and which holds and conveys the recording member carrying the unfixed image through the nip to fix the unfixed image on the recording member, and a conveyor for conveying the recording member to the fixing section. The conveyor can convey the recording member at a first speed, or at a second speed which is slower than the first speed. The conveyor conveys the recording member at the first speed before a leading end of the recording member is held by the nip, and at the second speed after the leading end is held by the nip. With such a construction, the recording member can be forcibly inserted into the nip, and can be prevented from slipping at the entrance of the nip.

When the image forming apparatus recognizes that the recording material has a light-transmitting property and that the unfixed image is a black monochromatic image, the fixing unit can fix the unfixed image with the first degree of fixing or with the second degree of fixing based on information relating to an image formed by the fixing unit.
