    摘要: An electrical connector assembly includes a receptacle connector (24) having a first non-conductive housing (51) for mounting on a printed circuit board (28) and including a mating receptacle (54). A plurality of board terminals (52) are mounted on the first housing and have tail portions (62) for connection to appropriate circuit traces on the circuit board and contact portions (58,58a) extending into the mating receptacle. A plug connector (22) has a second non-conductive housing (30) including a mating plug portion (30b) for insertion into the mating receptacle of the receptacle connector. A plurality of signal terminals (32) are mounted on the second housing and have contact portions (32b) on the mating plug portion thereof for engaging the contact portions of the board terminals in the mating receptacle when the connectors are mated. The signal terminals include terminating portions (32a) for termination to a plurality of discrete signal conductors (26a). A single metal shell (42) is mounted on the second housing of the plug connector and projects therefrom over the first housing of the receptacle connector to shield the mating interface between the board terminals and the signal terminals when the connectors are mated.

    摘要: A surface mount connector is disclosed having an improved terminal construction that avoid shorting between adjacent terminal contact portions, while maintaining a multi-pole structure with a reduced pitch of the terminal solder tail portions. The connector has an insulative connector housing with a plurality of terminals loaded in the housing on opposite sides of an opposing connector engaging slot. The terminals have contact that face into the slot and which are arranged in parallel in a predetermined pitch. Solder tail portions of the terminals extend underneath portions of the terminals and are arranged in parallel in a pitch that is one-half that of the pitch of the terminal contact portions.

    摘要: A SIMM socket with a metal latch for retaining a SIMM therein is provided. The socket includes a housing having a SIMM receiving slot and a plurality of terminals with contact beams extending into the slot. The SIMM is inserted into the slot in a first angular alignment with minimal insertion forces, and is rotated into a second alignment for achieving high quality electrical connection with the contact beams of the respective terminals. A metal latch is provided for releasably retaining the SIMM in the preferred angular alignment within the socket. The latch is stamped and formed from a unitary piece of metallic material and includes a housing engaging portion and a deflectable SIMM engaging portion. The housing includes walls for controlling the types and ranges of deflection that are permitted for the SIMM engaging portion.

    摘要: An electrical connector having enhanced grounding characteristics utilizes an insulating housing with a plurality of conductive terminals mounted inside, and a metal grounding shield covering the connector housing. The height of such assembly is reduced yet a good effective length of contact beam and increased distance between the soldering tails of the opposite terminals is assured. Each female terminal is composed of a horizontal base, a contact beam rising from one end of the horizontal base and having contact near its top end. A transition descends from the other end of the horizontal base, and a soldering tail horizontally extends from the transition. The female terminals are attached to opposite side walls of their housing with their horizontal bases partly embedded in the opposite side walls.
