    摘要: A resin composition is provided which composition comprises 100 parts by weight of (A) polyarylene sulfide, and 0.01 to 5.0 parts by weight of (B) a product compound of an element selected from the group consisting of group IIA and group IIB of the periodic table, wherein said product compound has such alkalinity that a mixture of said product compound with a 20-fold weight of ultrapure water of grade A4 specified in the Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) K0557 has a pH of from 10.0 to 12.0. The composition is particularly suited to be used for an optical instrument part such as an object lens driving unit and the like.

    摘要: In the preparation of polyarylene sulfide (PAS) by reacting an alkali metal sulfide with a dihaloaromatic compound in an organic amide solvent to obtain a polyarylene sulfide slurry and subjecting the slurry to acid treatment, an acid or hydrogen salt is added to the slurry in such an amount that a pH of the slurry is more than 7.0 and at most 11.0 to carry out the acid treatment. Alternatively, a zinc compound in an amount of 0.1 to 1.5 mole % per mole of the alkali metal sulfide supplied is added to the polyarylene sulfide slurry to treat the slurry, and, then, an acid or hydrogen salt in an amount of at least 0.2 mole % per mole of the alkali metal sulfide supplied is added. The PAS thus obtained has high crystallization speed, high whiteness, high mechanical strength and high melt viscosity, V6.

    摘要: A tubular extrusion molding product comprising a high molecular weight polyarylene sulfide having a melt viscosity of from 3,100 poise to 60,000 poise produced by reacting an alkali metal sulfide and a dihaloaromtic compound in the presence of an organic amide solvent, cooling a gaseous phase part in the reaction zone during the reaction thereby condensating at least a part of the gaseous phase and refluxing the resultant condensate to a liquid phase in the reaction zone. A tubular extrusion molding product having further improved impact resistance can be provided by copolymerizing from 0.2 mol % to 1 mol % of a polyhaloaromatic compound to the alkali metal sulfide. A tubular extrusion molding product of improved impact resistance is provided by further applying a heat treatment of the polyarylene sulfide intermediate product thereby increasing the melt viscosity.

    摘要: A particle size of polyarylene sulfide obtained in polymerization is controlled by a process characterized in that a gaseous phase part of a reactor is cooled or heated after starting decreasing a temperature of a reaction system o an end of precipitation of polyarylene sulfide formed In an embodiment, a water content in the reaction system is 0.8 to 1.7 moles per mole of the alkali metal sulfide; the gaseous phase part of the reactor is cooled in a polymerization stage to thereby condense a part of a gaseous phase in the reactor and the condensed liquid is refluxed to a liquid phase in the reactor; and the gaseous phase part is only cooled after starting decreasing the temperature of the reaction system, whereby high molecular weight polyarylene sulfide suitable for powder coating is formed, which has a weight average molecular weight of at least 30,000 and an average particle size of 50 to 80 &mgr;m, wherein particles of 40 to 150 &mgr;m account for at least 90% by weight of the whole particles in a particle size distribution, and the amount of particles of 180 &mgr;m or more is 0.5% lby weight or less.
