摘要： The paper feeding apparatus includes a manual feed tray, a spindle, a rotation lever, a cam, an operation shaft, a projection portion, an operation arm, and a stopper. The paper feeding apparatus is able to switch to/from automatic and manual paper feeds for stable loading of paper on the paper loading board and manual paper feed. The manual feed tray is openable/closable by turning around the spindle. The rotation lever and the cam are fixed on the operation shaft. When the manual feed tray is opened, the projection portion pushes the rotation lever. When the manual feed tray is closed, the cam touches the backside of the operation arm and the stopper rises. When the manual feed tray is opened, the rotation lever is pushed by the projection portion and the cam rotates in the clockwise direction separating from the backside of the operation arm. The stopper, consequently, is lowered.

摘要： An ink-jet recording apparatus includes: a base member; a conveyor unit, supported by the base member, for conveying a sheet in a conveying direction parallel to a first direction; and a recording unit, supported by the base member, for ejecting ink when the recording unit is opposed to the sheet in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The base member is divided into a first base portion that supports the conveyor unit and the recording unit, a second base portion contiguous to the first base portion and located downstream of the first base portion in the conveying direction, and a third base portion contiguous to the second base portion and located downstream of the second base portion in the conveying direction. A stiffness of the second base portion is less than that of each of the first base portion and the third base portion.

摘要： An ink-jet recording apparatus includes: a base member; a conveyor unit for conveying a sheet in a first direction; and a recording unit for ejecting ink when opposed to a sheet in a second direction. The base member includes: a first side base portion; a second side base portion; a center base portion located between the first side base portion and the second side base portion in a third direction; first and second side walls extending in the first direction and projecting in the second direction from opposite edge portions of the center base portion in the third direction; and a main board connecting the first side wall and the second side wall and configured to support the conveyor unit and the recording unit. The main board is greater in stiffness than the first side wall and the second side wall.

The first conveyor unit includes a first roller that contacts an upper surface of a sheet and a second roller that contacts a lower surface of the sheet. The second conveyor unit includes a third roller that contacts the lower surface of the sheet and a fourth roller that contacts the upper surface of the sheet. The first and second rollers and the third and fourth rollers nip and convey the sheet along a conveyance path. When the movable member is located in a first position, the first roller contacts the second roller and the third roller contacts the fourth roller. When the movable member moves to the second position, the first roller is moved away from the second roller and the third roller is moved away from the fourth roller.

The carriage includes an abutment portion. The image recording apparatus further includes a carriage position detector which detects a position of the carriage in a movement direction of the carriage and still further includes a rotating body which rotates in synchronization with the conveyance roller. The rotating body includes a reference portion which protrudes or depresses in the movement direction at a predetermined rotation phase of the rotating body and abut with the reference portion. Moreover, the image recording apparatus includes an origin determination section which, based on a result of the detection by the carriage position detector, determines an origin position of a rotation phase of the conveyance roller.

摘要： In an inkjet printer according to an aspect, a print head includes a nozzle and ejects ink through the nozzle. A maintenance unit performs a maintenance operation to recover an ejection state of the nozzle. A sealing unit selectively exposes and seals the nozzle. A first timer unit measures a sealing time when the sealing unit seals the nozzle. A second timer unit measures an exposing time when the sealing unit exposes the nozzle. A dryness obtaining unit obtains a dryness level of the nozzle based on the sealing time and the exposing time. A limit level storing unit stores a predetermined dryness level as a limit level. A control unit activates the maintenance unit when the obtained dryness level is equal to or above the limit level.
