摘要： An improved method of machining slots and material feed holes in a molding die such as an extrusion die designed to form a honeycomb structure of ceramics employed as a catalyst carrier of a catalytic converter for automotive vehicles. In one of the preferred embodiments, shallow holes are drilled in a die material and subjected to electrochemical machining to remove material from the bottoms of the shallow holes so that they communicate with the material feed holes without any burrs. In the other embodiment, the slots are cut using a rotary cutter in a given order which will balance reaction forces exerted on the cutter from both side walls of each slot to minimize deformation of the cutter during cutting of the slots, thereby preventing the slots from being curved undesirably.

摘要： A magnetic disc apparatus capable of selectively driving at least two types of the magnetic discs having signal recording portions on their major surfaces and having different recording densities. The magnetic disc apparatus includes a main head carriage mounted for movement on a base block, a supporting arm having its one end supported by a main head carriage, and a magnetic head having a first transducer having a slider, and a first core and adapted for accessing information signals at a first recording density, and a second transducer having a second core and adapted for accessing information signals at a second recording density higher than the first recording density. A magnetic gap for the first transducer and a magnetic gap for the second transducer are formed on the surface of the magnetic head facing the major surface of the magnetic disc. The magnetic disc apparatus also includes a flat-plate-shaped pivoting member for pivotably supporting the magnetic head in a state in which the slider and the base block are disposed on one and the opposite sides of the pivoting member. The magnetic head is changed in its posture to the magnetic disc to follow surface deviation of the magnetic disc produced during driving to achieve correct accessing of the magnetic disc by the magnetic head.

摘要： A magnetic head having a recording and/or reproducing magnetic gap and an erasing magnetic gap for writing and/or reading informational signals on and/or from a flexible disk is disclosed. A magnetic circuit comprises a front core having center cores and side cores and a rear core. The front core is sandwiched between a pair of sliders for assuring contact with the flexible disk. At least one of the sliders is provided with core reinforcing portions in positions corresponding to the cores and the side cores of the front core. The core reinforcing portions are in contact with the center cores and the side cores for reinforcing these cores.

摘要： A geomagnetic direction sensor has a substrate, at least two magneto-resistive effect devices and a coil for generating the bias magnetic field. The substrate retains shape symmetry when rotated through 90.degree. and includes plural magnetic cores for converging the geomagnetism. The magnetic cores are arrayed circumferentially of the substrate and interconnected with one another by a non-magnetic material. At least two magneto-resistive effect devices are provided in register with the magnetic gaps so as to be substantially at right angles to one another and to the direction of the magnetic field of the geomagnetism in the magnetic gap region. The substrate also includes a coil for generating a bias magnetic field for impressing a bias magnetic field to each of the magneto-resistive effect devices.

摘要： There is provided a simple fire extinguishing apparatus comprising a fire sensor 2 and a fire extinguishing water spraying head 3 positioned at required positions, a water tank 1 serving as a water supply source, a level switch 13 and a resupply port 10 which is not in contact with the water surface, installed in the water tank 1, a driving pump 7, a main pipe 5 allowing the suction and delivery sides of the driving pump 7 respectively to communicate with the water tank 1 and the fire extinguishing water spraying head 3, a control valve 8 installed in the main pipe 5 and adapted to be actuated by the fire sensor 2 and the level switch 13, a resupply pipe 4 branching from a tap water pipe 11 and extending to communicate with the resupply port 10, and a control valve 9 installed in the resupply pipe 4 and adapted to be actuated by the fire sensor 2 and the level switch 13, the arrangement being such that when a fire breaks out, water is fed from the water tank 1 through the main pipe 5 to the fire extinguishing water spraying head 3 and concurrently therewith water is resupplied from the tap water pipe 11 through the resupply pipe 4 and the resupply port 10 to the water tank 1.
