    摘要: A lever and latching arrangement having a pair of camming surfaces disposed on one end thereof is attached to one end of a tailstock member of an electronic memory book or central electronic complex book of a computer. This lever arrangement, as rotated about a pivot axis, engages one of the camming surfaces with a portion of the computer frame; the mechanical advantage of the lever system overcomes the large forces required to connect or disconnect the electronic book from the computer connectors. The pivot axis is positioned between the side rail of the book and the computer frame and between the tailstock and the connectors of the book to afford a low profile relative to the tailstock, permitting a more efficient use of available volumetric space within the computer. On the end of the lever distal from the pivot axis, the lever supports a latch which is insertable into a latch-retaining opening in the tailstock of the book, providing the capability to latch the lever in the installed position while not requiring any additional height of the lever structure.

    摘要: An assembly for use in providing EMI shielding for a circuit card. The assembly comprises a circuit card; a fastener; and, a shielding apparatus. The shielding apparatus comprises: a body providing EMI shielding and includes an attaching portion extending therefrom, wherein the attaching portion has a segment at a proximal end portion thereof which blocks an opening in the body for controlling EMI leakage and positions the attaching portion so that a fastener can fasten the attaching portion to a circuit card such that a first fastener end portion is engageable in juxtaposed relationship with a first card surface and a second fastener end portion terminates so as not to extend generally beyond a predetermined distance from a second card surface of the card.

    摘要: An assembly for dissipating heat generated by electronic components which include a ventilating panel having a plurality of vent holes arranged thereon. More specifically, the perforation pattern of vent holes is staggered to provide adjacent larger and smaller vent holes in at least two rows of vent holes. A second row of vent holes is staggered with respect to the first row of vent holes such that the larger vent holes are aligned with smaller vent holes, preferably in a ratio of two smaller vent holes per one larger vent hole. Such a perforation arrangement of vent holes may be provided on a blindswap cassette for securing and aligning computer cards for mounting in a housing, such as a sled for use in computer systems.

    摘要: A parallel-plugged planar sandwich arrangement for a computer system includes a first printed circuit board having a first electrical connector on a surface thereof, and a second printed circuit board having a second electrical connector on a surface thereof. The second electrical connector is electrically mated to the first electrical connector, to electrically couple the first printed circuit board to the second printed circuit board. A stiffener panel is disposed between the first printed circuit board and the second printed circuit board. A disengagement mechanism is attached to the panel and includes a cam assembly that has a cam rotatable about an axis of rotation, a cam pin projecting out from opposite sides of the cam and being coaxial with the axis of rotation, and a torsional helical spring disposed around the cam pin for automatically rotating the cam in a first direction. A handle is attached to the cam. When the handle is pulled, the cam is rotated in a second direction opposite to the first direction so that the cam is caused to push against the first printed circuit board, thereby removing the first electrical connector from engagement with the second electrical connector while moving the first printed circuit board in a direction away from the second printed circuit board.
