Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and a device for wavelength stabilizing for multichannel optical transmission systems. An optical multiplexer is used directly for the generation of the optical total signal. This makes possible a simple electronic regulation of wavelengths of the optical carrier signals through analysis of the amplitude values of low-frequency signals, which modulate the optical carrier signals by means of amplitude modulation.
Abstract:
Computer system and computer-implemented method for creating travel-expense statements. The computer system is based on electronic data processing means comprising identifying means for automatically creating particular identifying data for identifying which of the travel-expense receipts were related to particular business trips, and determining means for automatically collecting the identifying data of the travel-expense data for determining the travel-expense receipts associated with the particular identifying data. Rather than showing all entries, only those automatically-identified entries may be presented to the user as items that should be associated with a particular travel-expense statement.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method is illustrated as rendering an application User Interface (UI) to be modified to reflect a use case, and initiating a guided procedure relating to the use of an elected privilege to modify the application UI. Further, in one embodiment, a method is illustrated as including displaying a configuration rule, the configuration rule used to govern a UI configuration, detecting a selection of the configuration rule as an elected privilege relating to modifying a UI element and a layout element, and storing the elected privilege. In some cases, the UI is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) UI.

Abstract:
An optical amplifier is adapted to cancel the Raman gain of an optical transmission path that degrades those optical signals occupying the low end of the bandwidth such that the power is transferred from the latter signals to the optical signals occupying the high end of the bandwidth. More specifically, the optical amplifier adjusts the gain that it applies to the optical signals so that it favors the signal components at the low end of the bandwidth.
Abstract:
An x-ray CT apparatus has an x-ray source which emits an x-ray beam which is displaceable relative to an examination subject, the x-ray source emitting x-rays in the form of one or more pulses during the registration of a projection. An arrangement for modulating the x-ray power sets the duration of the pulses dependent on an angle attenuation profile of the examination subject for the individual projections, such that the mAs product applied for the individual projections correspond to the curve of the angle attenuation profile.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a gear transmission with a steplessly adjustable translation ratio for converting of rotary speeds and of torques of shafts. The uniform rotary motion of a drive shaft is transferred to a driven shaft with the aid of time staggered operating gear transmission units. The rotary motion is transformed by a cam transmission initially into a uniform translational motion and in the following this uniform translational motion is transformed into another, also uniform translational motion, with a speed depending on the translation ratio setting with a translation device. Finally this translational motion is transferred again into a uniform rotary motion by a further planar cam transmission and transferred to the driven shaft.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a transmission gear with a steplessly adjustable translation for converting rotation speeds and torques between two shafts. Such converters are employed in all areas of the drive technology, as for example in machine tools and vehicle drives. The transmission gear according to the present invention allows a uniform motion transfer from the drive shaft to the driven shaft while simultaneously inducing substantially less wear appearances at its function determining transmission gear elements, in particular of the transmission gear part system at the side of the driven shaft. Means are furnished for reducing wear, which means superpose an additional motion influencing the speed of the driven shaft only unsubstantially to the translation motions of the translation device.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and an optical transmission system for compensation of dispersion in optical transmission lines in which dispersion compensation fibers are applied, with the dispersion compensation fibers being arranged at the beginning as well as at the end of the line segments of the optical fibers forming the transmission line. The signal distortions due to non-linear effects are reduced by making use of the recognition that non-linearities should only occur at as small as possible an accumulated dispersion. This is obtained by an unequal division of the dispersion compensation fiber applied for the compensation of the dispersion of the optical fiber, with the part of the dispersion compensation fiber attached at the beginning of a line segment being directly connected to the optical fiber and having an accumulated dispersion which is smaller as to amount than the accumulated dispersion of the part of the dispersion compensation fiber attached at the end of the optical fiber.
