摘要： A rubberized fabric for a tire belt includes an elastomeric material and at least one reinforcing metal strap in the elastomeric material. The at least one reinforcing metal strap is made of a shape-memory material. The at least one reinforcing metal strap is oriented at about 0° to an equatorial plane of the tire. The at least one reinforcing metal strap has a width of no less than about 1 mm. The at least one reinforcing metal strap has a first thickness of no greater than about 0.1 mm. The at least one reinforcing metal strap may have coils disposed side-by-side and axially displaced from one another.

摘要： A pneumatic tire particularly adapted for cars, is provided with belt strips (7, 8) each comprising a first and a second series of cords (7a, 7b, 8a, 8b) made of different materials, alternated with each other axially across the width of the tire according to a preestablished sequence. The cords (7b, 8b) of the second series, made of aramid or glass for example, cooperate with those of the first series (7a, 8a), made of steel, to withstand tensile stresses in the longitudinal direction. Conversely, the cords (7b, 8b) of aramid or glass have a greater compliance than the steel cords (7a, 8a) towards compressive stresses. The elastomer incorporating the cords (7a, 7b, 8a, 8b) is filled with reinforcing fibers, short aramid fibers or aramid pulp for example, and has a modulus of elasticity between 15 and 50 megapascals.

The apparatus includes a pair of plates and a plurality of mold sectors that are mutually movable between an open condition and a closed condition; at least one plurality of sector carriers designed to support the mold sectors and movable together with the sectors; and a plurality of guide means on which the plurality of sector carriers slide for movement of the mold sectors from the closed condition to the open condition and vice versa, at least part of the sector carriers having at least one spring device designed to exert a thrust action adapted to ensure sliding of the sector carrier on the guide element in a substantially parallel direction.

摘要： A process is provided for the manufacture of radial tires for vehicle wheels, having an annular reinforcement structure inserted between the tread and the casing. The reinforcement structure has two layers of metal cord and in a radially outer position a third layer of cords arranged in a longitudinal direction. The third layer is made of a textile material which shrinks when heated. The process comprises the steps of first shaping the vulcanized casing to form a toroid, then applying to the shaped casing the two layers of metal cords together with a portion of the layer of textile cords at each side zone of the reinforcement structure. The width of the side zone is between 1/3 and 1/10 of the total width of the structure. The casing is shaped a second time to increase the external equatorial development thereof to a value greater than that reached during the first shaping step. The remaining central portion of the layer of textile cord is then applied on top of the layers of metal cords. A band of elastomeric material, forming the tread of the carcass is disposed on top of the layer of textile cords. The structure is then expanded and vulcanized in a pressurized mold.

The central area includes a first central block; a second central block having one side forming a part of the wall of the first circumferential groove; and a third central block circumferentially shifted with respect to the first central block and positioned at a distance from the first circumferential groove, the third central block being separated from the second central block by a central transverse groove which is inclined with respect to the equatorial plane. The substantially transverse grooves have respective end portions at a distance from the equatorial plane.
