    摘要： An absorbent article (1) comprising a liquid permeable top layer (10), a liquid impermeable back layer (20), and a liquid retentive absorbent member (30) interposed between the top layer (10) and the back layer (20), wherein the absorbent member (30) includes an absorbent sheet (31) having a thickness of 0.3 mm to 5 mm, the absorbent sheet being arranged such that a barrier cuff having a prescribed width is formed at the central portion of the top layer in the widthwise direction thereof, wherein said absorbent member is provided with liquid shrinkable members, which can elastically shrink upon the absorption of the liquid at the surface of said absorbent member facing said top layer and/or inside said absorbent member and in the vicinity of said surface, such that said absorbent member elastically shrinks over a prescribed length.

The absorbent member is arranged such that a pair of absorbent barrier cuffs having a prescribed width are formed at respective left and right opposing side portions of the top layer in the width-wise direction thereof, and liquid-shrinkable members, which can elastically shrink upon absorption of liquid, are disposed within the barrier cuffs and extend in the longitudinal direction of the barrier cuffs.

    摘要： An absorbent article comprising a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and a liquid retentive absorbent layer is disclosed. The absorbent layer comprises a superabsorbent polymer and hydrophilic fiber or foam that does not swell with water or hydrophilic fiber or foam that has a water retention of 0.7 g/g or less when it is swollen with water and then dewatered by centrifugation. The absorbent article has a physiological saline fixing ratio of 90% or more when it absorbs 10 g of physiological saline and, after 5 minutes, is dewatered by centrifugation.

    摘要： An absorbent article has a substantially elongated shape and includes a topsheet 2, a backsheet 3, and an absorbent member 4. The topsheet 2 includes a sheet member which has one surface 2a exhibiting hydrophobic properties and another surface 2b exhibiting hydrophilic properties. The one surface of the topsheet is a skin contactable surface, and the other surface faces the absorbent member 4. The backsheet serves as an anti-leakage sheet and is disposed at opposing longitudinal side portions of an upper surface of the absorbent article inwardly from side edges 1a of the absorbent member so that the backsheet forms a pair of hydrophobic areas A. Each of the hydrophobic areas A has a continuous or discontinuous sealed portion 10 formed by sealing the topsheet 2 and the backsheet 3 along each inner edge A' of each hydrophobic areas A. A body fluid retaining portion 20 is provided at a location lying outside of the sealed portion 10 on the skin contactable surface of the absorbent article. The body fluid retaining portion 10 is formed by folding the topsheet 2 so that the hydrophilic surface 2b forms the inside of the fold.
