摘要: An implantable medical lead may include an electrode at a distal portion of the lead that is configured to monitor or provide therapy to a target site. The lead may include a visible indicator that is visible to the naked eye of a clinician at a medial portion of the lead that is configured to indicate when the electrodes of the lead are longitudinally and radially aligned properly to monitor or treat the target site. A clinician may insert the lead into the patient using an introducer sheath inserted to a predetermined depth into the patient and subsequently aligning the distal portion of the lead by orienting the indicator at an entry port of the introducer sheath.

The tool comprises a relatively straight guide member extending from a first end thereof to a second end thereof, a tunneling member extending from a first end thereof to a tip thereof, the tunneling member extending alongside and coplanar with the guide member, the first end of the tunneling member and the first end of the guide member being joined together, and a handle coupled to the guide member.

摘要: A tool operable with a catheter in an interventional medical system retrieves a medical device from an implant site, wherein the device includes an attachment feature that forms an annular recess to be engaged by a lasso of the tool for snaring the device, and a distal-most sidewall of the catheter defines a receptacle into which the snared device is retrieved. A guide of the tool includes a sidewall defining a lumen in which the lasso extends for deployment out from a distal opening thereof, to snare and retrieve the implanted device. The sidewall establishes a radial offset between the guide lumen distal opening and the distal-most sidewall of the catheter, when the guide lumen distal opening and a distal opening of the receptacle are located in close proximity to one another, which radial offset is greater than a length of the annular recess formed by the device attachment feature.

摘要: A fixation mechanism of an implantable lead includes a plurality of depressions of an outermost surface of the lead and a relatively flexible sleeve mounted around the outermost surface. The depressions are spaced apart from one another along a length, and each extends circumferentially, wherein a longitudinal center-to-center spacing between each adjacent depression is uniform along the length, and each depression is of substantially the same size. The sleeve has an internal surface in sliding engagement with the outermost surface of the lead, and an external surface, in which suture grooves are formed. A longitudinal center-to-center spacing between adjacent suture grooves may be substantially the same as, or a multiple of, the longitudinal center-to-center spacing between adjacent depressions of the outermost surface of the lead. The sleeve may also include a ridge protruding from the internal surface, aligned with, or offset (by center-to-center spacing of depressions) from, the grooves.
