摘要: Systems (100) and methods (400) for powering an electrical load (322) in an environment. The methods involve using a battery (310) to simultaneously supply electrical energy to control electronics (308, 316) and a Super Capacitor (“SC”) storage element (314) immediately after a system has been disposed in the environment and turned on. In effect, the control electronics are caused to perform intended functions thereof nearly instantaneously after turning on the system. The SC storage element is charged from a first charge state in which approximately zero volts exist across terminals thereof to a second charge state in which greater than zero volts exists across the terminals. The SC storage element is then used to supply electrical energy to the electrical load of the system so as to cause the electrical load to perform intended functions thereof.

摘要: Systems (100) and methods (300, 400) for controlling access to a restricted area. The methods involve: determining whether a person desires to enter or exit the restricted area based on (1) Received Signal Strength Indicator (“RSSI”) measurement data specifying a power present in a signal received from a Wearable Access Sensor (“WAS”) worn by the person or (2) rate of change data specifying a rate of change of a charging voltage of an energy storage device disposed within the WAS; and causing actuation of a mechanical actuator to enable the person's entrance into or exit from the restricted area when a determination is made that the person desires to enter or exit the restricted area.

摘要: Systems and methods for controlling at least one security device based on the behavior of at least one tag. The methods comprise: generating sensor data relating to movement by at least one sensor disposed in a first tag; analyzing the sensor data to determine if an item to which the first tag is coupled is being handled in an unusual, abnormal or nervous manner; determining if an enterprise system has lost communicative contact with the first tag coupled to the item that is being handled in an unusual, abnormal or nervous manner; and causing an operational state of the security device to change in response to the loss of the communicative contact between the enterprise system and the first tag.

摘要: Systems and methods for managing inventory. The methods comprise: generating sensor data by an Electronic Smart Tag (“EST”); processing, by the EST or a computing device remote from the EST, the sensor data to transform the same into information specifying at least one of a first person's intention with regard to an item to which the EST is coupled and the first person's interest in the item; generating a notification or a recommendation relating to inventory management, based on at least one of the first person's intention with regard to the item and the first person's interest in the item; and providing the notification or recommendation to a second person.

摘要: Systems and methods for managing inventory pricing. The methods comprise: programming, at a first location, an Electronic Smart Tag (“EST”) with at least first item level information comprising a first item description in a first language and a first item price in a first monetary currency; outputting the first item level information from the EST; and automatically replacing the first item level information being output from the EST with second item level information in response to the ESTs arrival at a second location different than and remote from the first location. The second item level information comprises the first item description in a second language different than the first language and the first item price in a second monetary currency different than the first monetary currency.

摘要: Systems and methods for dynamically changing displayed content of a tag. The methods comprise: performing operations by sensors of the tag to detect when an individual is interacting with a first item to which the tag is coupled; determining a type of interaction between the individual and the first item; selecting at least one first accessory from a plurality of accessories for the first item based on the type of interaction; obtaining information for the selected at least one first accessory that is to be presented to the individual; and dynamically changing the displayed content of the tag to include the obtained information while the individual is still in proximity to the tag or interacting with the first item.

摘要: Systems and methods for dynamically changing displayed content of a first tag. The methods comprising: detecting when an individual is in proximity to the first tag or when an item, to which the first tag is coupled, is being handled by the individual; identifying at least one first accessory for the item or at least one first related product that can be used in conjunction with or as an alternative to the item; obtaining information for the identified at least one first accessory or related product that is to be presented to the individual; and dynamically changing the displayed content of the first tag to include the obtained information while the individual is still in proximity to the first tag or handling the item.
