摘要： Network access apparatus includes first and second master units, each having a physical interface to a packet-switched network. A plurality of slave units, each slave unit having one or more ports to respective subscriber lines, are linked by a plurality of physical interface lines in one or more daisy chains, in which the slave units are mutually connected in series by the physical interface lines therebetween. Each daisy chain includes at least a first slave unit connected by one of the physical interface lines to the first master unit and a last slave unit connected by another of the physical interface lines to the second master unit.

摘要： There is provided a method device and system for streaming media content to a media presentation appliance. There may be provided an appliance specific media stream generator adapted to derive an appliance specific stream from a multicast media stream. The generator may convert a multicast media stream addressed to a set of media presentation appliances into either (1) one or more unicast media streams, wherein each unicast media stream is addressed to a separate media presentation appliance; or (2) a multicast media stream addressed to a subset of the set of media presentation appliances. In both cases, the media content within the derived media stream may be substantially identical to the media content of the original multicast media stream. The generator may also introduce content (e.g. advertising) into the derived media stream(s).

摘要： Network access apparatus includes a slave unit, including a plurality of subscriber ports adapted to be linked to respective subscriber lines, and a multiplexer for multiplexing among the ports. A master sub-system, is connected to at least one trunk line of a first public network, in a location remote from the slave unit. The master sub-system includes a first master unit, adapted to communicate with the slave unit via an assigned link through a second public network, so as to provide users of the subscriber lines with access to the first public network through the at least one trunk line. The master sub-system also includes a second master unit, coupled through the first master unit to communicate with the slave unit via the assigned link, so as to provide the users with access to the first public network through the at least one trunk line in the event of a failure associated with the first master unit.

摘要： A reduced instruction set computer (RISC) includes at least one arithmetic logic units (ALUs), which are arranged to evaluate logical conditions. A processing pipeline is arranged to solve a decision problem that is representable as a decision tree including at least three nodes by processing a sequence of pipelined instructions that traverse the decision tree. At least some of the pipelined instructions instruct the one or more ALUs to evaluate respective logical conditions, such that the pipeline flushes the instructions from the pipeline no more than once in the course of processing the sequence regardless of whether the logical conditions evaluate to true or false.

摘要： A method for cache management includes assigning a respective cache line in a cache of a processing device to each of a plurality of processing flows in the processing device, and loading respective context data relating to each of the processing flows from a memory into the respective cache line that is assigned thereto. Respective activity levels of the processing flows are monitored. Responsively to detecting an absence of activity of a processing flow, and prior to receiving a request to overwrite the cache line, the context data are written back to the memory from the respective cache line that is assigned to the processing flow.
