Abstract: There is provided a photonic integrated circuit configured for low-coherence interferometry and in-field sensing. The photonic integrated circuit can include an opto-coupler that has a substrate substantially transparent to a specified wavelength of light and a waveguide configured to route a light beam having a center wavelength at the specified wavelength. The opto-coupler further includes a mirror disposed at an angle, and the mirror is disposed on an angled surface of the substrate, the angled surface being proximate to an output end of the waveguide. The opto-coupler further includes a beam forming element configured to collect light reflected from the mirror, and the waveguide and the mirror are integrated within the substrate.

Abstract: Sensor data is captured with a sensor. The sensor data includes a lens-position of a prescription lens relative to a reference point of an optical coherence tomography (OCT) system. A mirror of a reference arm of the OCT system is positioned at an optical pathlength between an eye region of the prescription lens based at least in part on the sensor data. An OCT signal is generated while the mirror is positioned at the optical pathlength. At least one depth profile is generated that includes the prescription lens and the eye region.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method for an eye tracking system for a head-mounted device include a light source, an image sensor, and a frame tracking system. The light source and image sensor may be configured to determine absolute and relative eye orientations. The frame tracking system may be configured to determine the displacement of a head-mounted device frame relative to the face of the user. The frame tracking system may provide displacement data for the displacement of the head-mounted device frame to the eye tracking system to enable the eye tracking system to compensate for frame slippage, frame jostling, or other frame displacement (relative to the face of the user). The frame tracking system may include one or more position sensors disposed on the head-mounted device frame and logic configured to determine displacement data using information from the one or more position sensors.

Abstract: A volumetric depth image is captured. The volumetric depth image includes a front surface of a prescription lens, a back surface of the prescription lens, and a cornea of an eye of a wearer of the prescription lens. Lens-to-eye data is determined from the volumetric depth image. The lens-to-eye data includes measurements of the prescription lens with respect to the eye. A three-dimensional (3D) optical-mechanical fit profile is generated or the wearer based on the lens-to-eye data.
