Abstract: A system is provided. The system includes a light source configured to emit a infrared (“IR”) light for illuminating an object. The system also includes a waveguide imaging assembly including a waveguide, an in-coupling element disposed at a first portion of the waveguide, an out-coupling element disposed at a second portion of the waveguide, and an optical sensor disposed facing the out-coupling element. The in-coupling element is configured to couple the IR light reflected by the object into the waveguide, the waveguide is configured to guide the IR light to propagate toward the out-coupling element through total internal reflection, and the out-coupling element is configured to couple the IR light out of the waveguide toward the optical sensor. The optical sensor is configured to generate a tracking signal of the object based on the IR light output from the waveguide.

Abstract: A waveguide display system include a waveguide, an input coupler configured to couple display light into the waveguide, a first pupil expander, and a second pupil expander. The first pupil expander is configured to deflect, at a first plurality of locations along a first direction, the display light towards the second pupil expander. The second pupil expander is configured to deflect, at a second plurality of locations along a second direction different from the first direction, the display light from the first pupil expander towards an eyebox of the waveguide display system. At least one of the input coupler, the first pupil expander, or the second pupil expander includes transflective mirrors that are tilted within the waveguide such that the transflective mirrors are inconspicuous when viewed from an oblique angle.

Abstract: According to examples, a method for phase plate fabrication may be described herein. The method may include providing an interferometer configuration to generate a hologram of a plurality of pinholes. In some examples, the interferometer configuration includes a substrate for photopolymer attachment, a photopolymer having a predetermined thickness, and an exposure mask with a plurality of pinholes. The method may also include exposing the photopolymer with collimated light, via a laser source, through the exposure mask with a plurality of pinholes, wherein the collimated light passes through the exposure mask itself to create a collimated beam, and the plurality of pinholes of the exposure mask to create a spherical wavefront. The collimated beam and the spherical wavefront may help generate the hologram on the photopolymer for use as a phase plate for improved light transmissivity in display systems.

Abstract: A waveguide display includes a first waveguide assembly and a second waveguide assembly. Abstract: A display system includes a wearable eyewear arrangement with a projector for propagating display light associated with an image and a waveguide for propagating the display light to an eye box. The waveguide includes volume Bragg gratings (VBGs), which may be in groups of three or more gratings with same horizontal period allowing each color to be coupled out from the waveguide by the same type of grating, thus, at the same angle, reducing or eliminating image blurriness and ghost images while allowing a smaller size waveguide. A 100% reflective mirror or mirror array is used for broad spectrum reflection into the waveguide for light input. Selection of two or more wavelengths for each color at the projector provides spectral response matching to the waveguide allowing wider field of view (FOV) coverage for the entire wavelength spectrum.

Abstract: A device includes a light source configured to output a first beam, and a light guide coupled with an in-coupling element and an out-coupling element.
