摘要: Several downhole flow control devices are disclosed which are meterable and are also capable of shutting of a particular zone in a well. The several embodiments include a multiple valve body, a toroidal inflatable valve, and a series of related choke systems. The downhole flow control choke mechanisms each include a downhole electronics package to provide programming or decision making capacity as well as motor actuation systems. Each choke mechanism also includes a system whereby the device can be converted to manual operation and actuated by a conventional shifting tool.

摘要: A fluid circulation apparatus for interconnection with a wellbore tubing string for particular use in drilling deviated wellbores, such as with coiled tubing. The circulation apparatus has a tubular body member with a longitudinal bore extending therethrough and threads for interconnection with a tubing string. A fluid communication port extends through a sidewall of the tubular body member, and a valve is placed thereacross for selectively permitting and preventing fluid flow through the fluid communication port. The valve is biased in a normally closed position by way of a spring. Fluid control means, such as a hydraulic fluid source conveyed through the tubing string, operates the valve in response to electrical signals sent to the fluid control means from the earth's surface.

摘要: A side-pocket gas lift mandrel having tapered end caps threaded onto the ends of the mandrel with metal-to-metal sealing threads. The thickness of each made up thread set is the same as the thickness of the small end of each end cap, resulting in a mandrel having the same outside diameter as if the end caps were welded on, without sacrificing any inside diameter in the small ends of the end caps, compared to a welded mandrel.

摘要: A downhole well valve having a variable area orifice (26) is flow area adjusted by a sliding sleeve (20) that is axially shifted along a tubular housing (12) interior in a finite number of increments. A hydraulic actuator (60) displaces a predetermined volume of hydraulic fluid with each actuator stroke. An actuator displaced volume of fluid shifts the flow control sleeve by one increment of flow area differential. An indexing mechanism (40) associated with the sleeve provides a pressure value respective to each increment in the increment series.
