摘要： Methods, systems, and media to mount one or more components to a hardware casing are disclosed. Embodiments include hardware and/or software for determining a pattern of interconnects to apply to an interior surface of the hardware casing. The pattern includes at least one independent path for transmitting a signal between the components. The pattern of interconnects is then applied to the interior surface, the application being configured for the topography of the interior surface to couple the components with the pattern of interconnects. In many embodiments, the components may then be mounted to the casing and interconnected with the interconnects. And, in some embodiments the pattern of interconnects may be coupled with a circuit board having additional components.

The system is customizable to each particular user by permitting the user to modify the data entries in the portable database to satisfy the user's needs. In addition to Internet document systems, the invention is applicable to electronic mail systems. In the case of a global network, such as the Internet, the present invention may be operatively associated with the Internet browser or even form a component of the browser.

摘要： A method of managing a plurality of windows organized and displayed on the graphical user interface of a computer. At any given time, one of the plurality of windows has a focus on the graphical user interface and a remainder of the windows are at least partly obscured behind the window having the focus. The method begins by displaying a graphical control device on the GUI, The graphical control device preferably has a plurality of identifiers each of which is associated with a given one of the plurality of windows. Thus, the graphical control device may be a slider, with each of the identifiers being a “notch”. As the graphical pointer is moved in a predetermined manner relative to the notches, respective windows are selectively positioned at the focus position on the GUI. Thus, the user may easily locate any desired window by traversing the graphical pointer across the slider notches. As each notch is traversed, the window associated therewith is brought into the focus position. This is a fast and simple technique for locating a hidden or partially obscured window on the interface.

摘要： In a data processing system having a display and an operating system, information is displayed within a first window utilizing information display software. Thereafter, the process detects a second window displayed within the display at a location that obscures a portion of the information displayed in the first window. Utilizing the operating system, the process notifies the information display software that the portion of the information within the first window is obscured by the second window. In response to receiving this information, the information display software displays, in the first window, the portion of the information that had been obscured by the second window, wherein the information in the first window previously obscured by the second window may be viewed in the first window by the data processing system user. Information displayed in the first window may be textual or graphical. The information display software may also receive information form the system that specifies coordinates of available display area. In response to predetermined conditions, previously obscured information may be displayed in available display area in a relocated first windows.
