摘要： An instant special effects camera which provides children in the age range of five years and up with an opportunity to take photos and see the results instantly. The camera is a battery operated electronic black and white camera with an integral direct thermal printer. A replaceable paper cassette is included. To improve the ease of use and reduce cost, a minimal number of simple controls are provided. A picture may be taken simply by aiming the camera through a double view finder and pressing the shutter button. No setting up or flash is required. Plug-in special effects cartridges may be provided to increase the number of special effects.

摘要： A label printing apparatus receives a cassette holding printing tape on which an image is to be printed. The apparatus also has a printing mechanism which includes a thermal printhead having a group of printing elements to which pixel data defining the image to be printed is passed sequentially on a group-by-group basis. The groups are printed adjacent one another in the direction of movement of the printing tape. A drive system is provided for driving the printing tape through the printing mechanism end includes a dc motor which is provided with a shaft encoder for monitoring the speed of rotation of the motor. Sequential printing of the groups of pixel data is controlled in dependence on the monitors speed of rotation of the motor. There is also described a label printing apparatus which uses monitoring of the speed of rotation of the motor to detect an end of tape condition.

摘要： A method of controlling operation of a print head to align imprints printed by the print head in two traverses in opposite directions is disclosed. The print head includes a row of printing elements that are operated selectively in a plurality of print cycles to print each imprint. Upon completion of printing a first imprint, signals corresponding to motion of the print head step the count of a counter. The stepping of the counter is terminated when the print head passes a reference position. During a reverse traverse of the print head, stepping of the counter is initiated when the print passes the reference position and operation of the print head to print a second imprint is initiated when the count reaches a predetermined count.
