摘要: A process for the oligomerization of propylene is disclosed wherein a tungstated zirconia catalyst prepared as a distillation structure is used in a reaction distillation zone under conditions of temperature and pressure to concurrently react the propylene to produce oligomers thereof and separate the oligomer products from unreacted propylene by fractional distillation in a distillation column reactor. Compared to the prior art tubular or plug flow reactors, lower temperatures and pressures are used to produce higher conversions and selectivities to preferred isomeric forms useful for preparing neo acids.

Naphthalene is contacted with alkylbenzenes in a distillation column reactor in the presence of transalkylation catalyst to produce alkylnaphthalenes which are concurrently separated by fractional distillation as bottoms and the alkylbenzenes are separated as overheads.

摘要: Alkenes, such as normal butenes in a mixed C4 stream are oligomerized, preferably to dimers, which are dimerized in a distillation column reactor over ZSM-57 zeolite catalyst at high conversions and high selectivity to octenes. Prior to oligomerization the mixed C4 stream is pretreated to remove dimethyl ether, butadienes and sulfur compounds.

摘要: A method for producing 3-methyl-2-pentene which is substantially free of any other C.sub.6 olefin, except 2-ethyl-1-butene, by first producing a stream that contains 2-ethyl-1-butene from the trimerization of ethylene, and second by recovering the 2-ethyl-1-butene as 3-methyl-2-pentene via etherification, separation of the ether, and decomposition of the ether back to predominantly 3-methyl-2-pentene with some 2-ethyl-1-butene.

摘要: A process for reproducibly forming a thermally and oxidatively stable high hydroxyl glycerol di-ester compound which is particularly useful as a lubricant. The glycerol di-ester compound is formed by reacting a glycidyl ester with an excess of a neo acid salt. The di-ester product is produced in a nearly quantitative conversion and is readily recoverable from the reaction mixture via a water wash, vacuum dry, and a mild wiped film evaporator treatment.
