摘要: The present disclosure provides for selective delivery of social network messages within a social network. When it is determined that one or more new messages to be communicated to members of a social group of the social network have content substantially similar to a given content of a plurality of messages previously communicated to the social group, notification of the one or more new messages to the one or more members of the social group can be selectively adjusted.

摘要: Example methods and apparatus to generate virtual-world environments are disclosed. A disclosed example method involves receiving real-world data associated with a real-world environment in which a person is located at a particular time and receiving virtual-reality data representative of a virtual-world environment corresponding to the real-world environment in which the person was located at the particular time. The method also involves displaying the virtual-world environment based on the virtual-reality data and displaying, in connection with the virtual-world environment, a supplemental visualization based on supplemental user-created information. The supplemental user-created information is obtained based on the real-world data.

摘要: A server (102) receives (302) from an originator a group message directed to an address associated in the server with a pre-defined plurality of recipients whose coupling to the wireless communication system at any given time is either active or inactive. The server stores (304) the group message, and transmits (316) the group message to each recipient of the pre-defined plurality of recipients whenever the recipient is actively coupled to the wireless communication system. The server indicates (318) thereafter to the originator that the recipient has received the group message.

摘要: A plurality of wireless transceivers (114) for communicating messages to SCRs (Selective Call Radios) (116) include a radio transceiver (402, 404, 406, 408), and a processing system (412) coupled thereto. A periodic communication cycle (FIG. 9) is divided into a plurality of time slots, each time slot having a duration equal to or greater than the predetermined propagation delay of a signal transmitted between wireless transceivers. Each of the wireless transceivers is assigned to a corresponding one of the time slots. To transmit a message from a selected one of the wireless transceivers to a targeted SCR, the processing system of each of the wireless transceivers is adapted to locate the targeted SCR. Once the targeted SCR is located, the processing system of the wireless transceiver co-located with the targeted SCR is adapted to enable the radio transceiver to monitor transmission energy in the communication medium during a time slot immediately preceding the time slot assigned to said wireless transceiver. If the energy measured is below a predetermined threshold, the processor is adapted to cause the radio transceiver to transmit at least a portion of the message to the targeted transceiver beginning at the time slot assigned to said wireless transceiver.

摘要: A method and apparatus is used for transmitting an outbound message in a two-way messaging system having a plurality of cells employing frequency reuse. The outbound message is transmitted to a selective call transceiver (122) utilizing a first frequency reuse plan (312). The two-way messaging system awaits a positive acknowledgment (316, 318) from the selective call transceiver (122) confirming that the outbound message was received with an acceptable quality. The two-way messaging system retransmits the outbound message to the selective call transceiver (122) utilizing a second frequency reuse plan (332), in response to receiving a negative acknowledgment and also in response to failing to receive any acknowledgment within a predetermined time after transmitting the outbound message.

摘要: A communication system (100) providing analog message re-transmission on demand comprises a base station (114) and at least one portable communication transceiver (118). The base station (114) transmits an address (414) identifying the portable communication transceiver (118) to which a voice message is directed, and a session number (415) modulated in a first modulation format and a compressed analog message (418) representing the voice message modulated in a second modulation format. When the signal quality of the voice message played back in the portable communication transceiver (118) is perceived by the user to be unintelligible, the user can receive from the base station (114) a re-transmission of the compressed analog message (418) by generating a request for re-transmission of the compressed analog message (418).

摘要: A device is provided. The device includes a primary camera to capture images, a secondary camera to capture images, a viewfinder, and a processor. The viewfinder can display images captured by the primary camera. The processor can provide eye tracking analysis on images captured by the secondary camera in order to determine a region of interest in the viewfinder. The processor further associates the region of interest with a portion of an image captured by the primary camera. The processor further initiates an autofocus procedure based on the region of interest.

摘要: In an ad hoc wireless network having a plurality of members (100) a master, while communicating on a first communication channel, recognizes (202) a need for assistance in managing the network. In response to the need, the master negotiates (204) with a member of the ad hoc wireless network for the member to become a sub-master. The sub-master then assumes (206) management of a portion of the plurality of members. The sub-master and the portion then communicate (208) on a second communication channel negotiated with the master.
