摘要: An intelligent occupancy sensor, such as a Passive InfraRed (PIR) sensor, with variable adaptive timeout. When a person first walks into the room and, after a very short time, walks out of the room, the occupancy sensor operates with a short timeout. When, however, a person lingers in the room, the occupancy sensor switches to another mode of operation where the timeout increases or decreases based on the frequency that the sensor detects motion in the room and the amplitude and/or duration of the signal of the detected motion.

摘要: A control system and method suppress noise in a power-line-based system which has a device repeater connected to an electrical device, and which may be capable of remote control by signals transmitted through the power-line-based system. The control system includes a control device and a communications bus. The communications bus connects the control device to the device repeater. The control device, using a control repeater, controls a phase signal of the device repeater to suppress noise during operation of the electrical device associated with the device repeater.

摘要: There is disclosed a two wire touch operated dimmer controlled by a membrane potentiometer. Adjusting the DC potential on the membrane potentiometer changes the output potential to a load. In many prior art touch operated dimmers controlled by membrane potentiometers, there is no isolation between the line power and the DC voltage on the membrane potentiometer. Thus, if the membrane is damaged, a user will be exposed to a ground current and possible shock when the membrane is touched. This invention avoids the above noted unsafe condition by employing a high frequency generator and a ground fault current limiting circuit which includes resistors.

摘要: A passive infrared (PIR) wall switch is operable in a two-wire circuit to control power to a load. The PIR wall switch can include one or more PIR sensors with a low current two stage amplifier-filter. The PIR sensor(s) monitor infrared (IR) radiation. The amplifier can provide a pulse signal when an IR radiation level has changed. Power for control circuitry of the PIR switch may be derived from a ground leakage type power supply, which can supply phase line wire leakage current to ground of less than 0.5 milliampere.

摘要: A repeater in a power line control system includes a selective repeat feature. The repeater stores selected codes associated with a particular location. When a command is received on an input power line, the repeater repeats only those commands that have the selected codes. Implementations of the repeater include a test switch that, when activated, send command signals to activate and deactivate electrical devices in the power line communication system. A noise level indicator can be included to indicate a noise level on the input power line that can disable commands transmitted to an electrical device in the power line communication system.

摘要: A sensor mounting mechanism that includes a base member adapted to be mounted to a structure and a base neck having a first end and a second end where the first end is adapted to be coupled to a sensor with a ball-socket coupling and the second end is coupled to the base member with a rotating coupling. The mounting mechanism provides fine and course adjustment means for adjusting the scanning area of the sensor such as an PIR occupancy sensor without the use of a tool. The sensor includes a detachable lens holder for easy replacement of the lens.
