    摘要: A bifurcated stent having a side branch constructed out of a bioabsorbable material. The side branch comprises one or more bio cells which are flexible and easily deformable when the stent is in the unexpanded state. The bio cells have a locking member which fixedly holds the bio cells in place once the stent assumes the expanded state. The locking member uses oppositely directed hooks or ratchet teeth to prevent contraction in the bio cells once the expanded state is assumed. By having an appropriate alternation between flexibility and rigidity the side branch is flexible enough to deal with the geometric difficulties of bending and deploying a side branch while being fixed and rigid enough to properly support and scaffold a side branch assembly. The deployment of the side branch can be facilitated by the use of a ratcheting device. The side branch can also have a flared shape.

    摘要: A stent, with expanded and unexpanded configurations, comprises a substantially tubular body having a proximal end region, a distal end region, and defining a first lumen therethrough. The tubular body comprises a plurality of adjacent deployable elements positioned between the proximal end region and distal end region. In the expanded configuration the deployable elements define a second lumen. The first lumen has a first longitudinal axis and the second lumen has a second longitudinal axis which is at an oblique angle relative to the first longitudinal axis. The first lumen is in fluid communication with the second lumen. The tubular body comprises a track region which further comprises at least two struts. The struts are substantially parallel to each other and the first longitudinal axis in the unexpanded configuration. The track region is comprised of at least one of the deployable elements.

    摘要: A bifurcated stent that is positionable adjacent to a branched body vessel. The stent includes a tapered middle portion with a side branch assembly for positioning within the deviating branch of a body vessel. The portion of the stent positioned within the first body vessel and the portion positioned within the main branch vessel have largely different sized diameters. The middle region tapers steeply to bridge this diameter differential. The tapered middle region also angles the side branch assembly which can easily be extended at an angle to the main body of the stent.

    摘要: In at least one embodiment, a stent comprises a side branch structure having an inner crown, an outer crown and a plurality of side branch connectors, each side branch connector connecting between the inner crown and the outer crown. Upon expansion of the side branch structure, the inner crown displaces outwardly in a stent radial direction. The entire inner crown moves out of the area defined by the generally cylindrical framework of the main stent body. Upon the outward displacement of the inner crown, the side branch connectors may reorient and also extend out of the area defined by the generally cylindrical framework of the main stent body. The inner crown may further comprise a plurality of outwardly deployable petals. Desirably, side branch expansion forces placed on the inner crown will first cause the inner crown to displace outwardly, then cause the petals to deploy outwardly.
