    摘要: Photoconductive compositions comprising photoconductors and 1,4,5,8-naphthalene bis-dicarboximide sensitizing compounds are disclosed. Compositions and elements containing such compounds are sensitized to radiation below 400 nm. Embodiments are disclosed in which the photoconductor is an arylalkane leuco base. Such embodiments are advantageously nonsensitive to radiation above 400 nm and are also nonpersistent.

    摘要: A luminescent material including a compound of the formula: ##STR1## where: n is an integer of 2 or 3; M is a divalent metal or a trivalent metal; G is a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group or a substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl group, both the aryl and the heteroaryl groups having 6 to 24 carbon atoms, wherein the substituted aryl or heteroaryl group is an alkyl, haloalkyl group having 1-8 carbon atoms, an alkoxy or haloalkoxy group having 1-18 carbon atoms, halogen, cyano, amino, amido, sulfonyl, carbonyl, aryl, or heteroaryl; and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are individually hydrogen, an alkyl or haloalkyl group having 1-18 carbon atoms, halogen, cyano, amono, amido, sulfonyl, carbonyl, and 5-24 atoms necessary to complete a fused aromatic ring.

    摘要: A 6-tertiary amino-2-(Z.dbd.CH--)benzofuran dye is disclosed, where Z represents the atoms providing an electron withdrawing group and a conjugated methine linkage completing a resonant dye chromophore including the 6-tertiary amino group as an electron donor and the electron withdrawing group as an electron acceptor. The dyes are formed by condensing a 6-tertiary amino-2-formylbenzofuran with an electron withdrawing dye nucleus precursor containing an active methyl or methylene site. The dyes exhibit bathochromically shifted absorption peaks.
