摘要： A system and method for establishing and maintaining a contract between a business process model and a monitoring module corresponding to a portion of the business process model is disclosed. In the modeling task, a contract is established and associated with an event in the business process flow. The contract specifies a relationship between the event within the business process model and a monitoring module that is configured to monitor the event. Therefore, if changes are made to the event or process, a user will be warned that the changes may affect an existing monitoring module that exists to monitor this process.

摘要： Provided is a method for assigning a domain host configuration protocol (DHCP) server from a list of available DHCP servers based upon user selected criteria. When a network router receives a request for an IP address from a computer, or “client,” connected to a network, the request is analyzed for information related to both the client and the available DHCP servers. The analysis may be based upon a number of factors such as the number of previous requests to a particular DHCP server and the proximity of the servers to the computer requesting the IP address. Once the router determines an appropriate DHCP server for a particular IP address request, the client request is forwarded to that DHCP server. The process is completely transparent to both the requesting client and to the selected DHCP server.

摘要： An appliance includes a user interface and a controller. The user interface comprises a plurality of selector buttons. Each selector button respectively comprises a display and a touch sensitive input area. The display can render an image thereupon for the selector button. Further, the display of the selector button can be separate from disparate displays of disparate selector buttons of the user interface. Moreover, the touch sensitive input area can be operable to receive an input selection that corresponds to the image rendered by the display of the selector button. The input selection received by the touch sensitive input area can cause the display of the selector button to change the image rendered thereupon and/or the disparate displays to change corresponding respective images rendered thereupon. The controller can respectively choose images rendered upon a plurality of displays and control operation of the appliance in response to the input selection.

摘要： A method, system, and computer program product are provided that extend the functionality of personal information managers (PIMs) to allow a user to perform telephone control operations through the PIM. The method, system, and computer program product also allow the user to extend the capabilities of his telephone system. The user can receive information maintained by the PIM (such as contacts, unread e-mail messages, and calendar appointments) as needed, without requiring a query. The user can receive unread e-mail or reminders about imminent appointments through a pager, for example. Parties trying to contact the user can also receive information maintained by the user's PIM. For example, a caller can learn the user's whereabouts, as indicated by the user's appointment calendar, when the user is unavailable to answer a telephone call. This functionality is provided in part by connecting the PIM and its data structures to a private branch exchange. This facilitates the distribution of information maintained by the PIM and allows control of telephone operations through the PIM user interface.

摘要： A web browser with a set of controls which allows a user to select several page hold modes of operation when selecting standard or plain hyperlinks. In a first state, the web browser software will display pages in a way unaltered from it's standard functionality. In a second state, selection of any hyperlink on the parent page shown in the original instance of the web browser will result in the spawning of a new instance of the web browser in a new window showing the selected document, and the parent page will be “held” in the original instance of the web browser. The user may select many hyperlinks on the parent page, and many new instances of the web browser would be spawned. In the third state, only one additional web browser instance will created to display most recently selected document, and the parent page will be “held” in the original instance of the web browser. Finally, the web browser detects certain changes in the address of the document being viewed to the document selected by the user, and automatically updates the parent instance of the web browser to display a new parent page in the original instance of the web browser. The change criteria may be specified by the user, such as changes in host name and domain only, or change in host, domain or subdomain.

Embodiments include returning from the borrower to the lender the deficit amount after displaying the show to the borrower or upon repossession by a lender.
