摘要: A rear automotive lamp assembly is provided replicating the appearance of a plurality of distinct illumination sources, such as light emitting diodes. The lamp assembly having a light source, at least one reflector, the reflectors having reflective surfaces, the reflective surfaces operable to reflect light from the light source. The reflectors spaced apart and oriented such that light rays from the light source are incident to each of the reflective surfaces are reflected towards a viewing direction. A shield further disposed between the light source and the reflective surface of the reflector. The shield including a plurality of open sections or cutouts thereby allowing a generally collimated light beam from the light source to shine on the reflective surface such that each of the reflective surfaces of the at least one reflector appears as a distinct illumination source from the viewing direction. The openings vary in size and dimension along the length of the shield.

摘要: An approach is provided in a hypervised computer system where a page table request is at an operating system running in the hypervised computer system. The operating system determines whether the page table request requires the hypervisor to process. If the determination reveals that the page table request requires the hypervisor, then the hypervisor is used to handle the request. However, if the determination reveals that the page table request does not require the hypervisor, then an indicator included in a page table entry corresponding to the request is read to determine if the page table entry is controlled by the operating system or the hypervisor. The operating system is able to update the page table entry if the indicator identifies the page table entry as being operating system controlled.

摘要: A method in a data processing system is provided for processing a service request of a client partition. The method includes: obtaining by a service partition of the data processing system the service request from the client partition, wherein both the client and service partitions execute above a hypervisor of the data processing system; and processing the service request by the service partition utilizing a processor quantum assigned to the client partition and donated by the client partition to the service partition. The client partition controls scheduling of the service partition by queuing the service request at the client partition until the client partition decides to proceed with execution of the service request by the service partition. In one implementation, the service partition is a partition adjunct of the data processing system, which utilizes donated virtual address space of the client partition.

摘要: To monitor storm activity in real time, ELF signals generated in an Earth-ionosphere resonator are received via two active magnetic induction antennas, recorded, and sent to an electronic data processing unit for spectral analysis. The resulting power spectra are matched with resonance curves to parametrize the power spectra by a set of observation parameters that are based on ELF field resonance propagation models in the Earth-ionosphere resonator and that depend on distance and intensity of electrical spark discharges of storm cells. The observation parameters are compared with base parameters of a model parameter database. The base parameters that best approximate the observation parameters are used for developing a map of location and intensity of the electrical spark discharges.

摘要: A system, method and computer program product for efficient sharing of memory between first and second applications running under first and second operating systems on a shared hardware system. The hardware system runs a hypervisor that supports concurrent execution of the first and second operating systems, and further includes a region of shared memory managed on behalf of the first and second applications. Techniques are used to avoid preemption when the first application is accessing the shared memory region. In this way, the second application will not be unduly delayed when attempting to access the shared memory region due to delays stemming from the first application's access of the shared memory region. This is especially advantageous when the second application and operating system are adapted for real-time processing. Additional benefits can be obtained by taking steps to minimize memory access faults.

摘要: Multiple logical partitions are provided access to a self-virtualizing input/output device of a data processing system via multiple dedicated partition adjunct instances. Access is established by: interfacing each logical partition to one or more associated partition adjunct instances, each partition adjunct instance coupling its associated logical partition to one of a virtual function or a queue pair of the self-virtualizing input/output device, and each partition adjunct instance being a separate dispatchable state and being created employing virtual address space donated from the respective logical partition or a hypervisor of the data processing system, and each partition adjunct instance including a device driver for the virtual function or queue pair of the self-virtualizing input/output device; and providing each logical partition with at least one virtual input/output which is interfaced through the logical partition's respective partition adjunct instance(s) to a virtual function or queue pair of the self-virtualizing input/output device.
