摘要: A system estimates accessibility on the basis of information of a requesting device and digital rights management information of content when a utilization request of the content is raised through a network. In a device including a hard disk for storing a plurality of content files and having a networking function for transmitting the content file to other device, a utilization condition and a utilization state are so managed as to correspond to the content file and when a utilization request of a content file is made, utilizability of the content file is judged from a utilization object in the utilization request and from information of a transmitting device of the utilization request. When utilization is not judged as possible, a report is made to the transmitting device of the utilization request to the effect that the content file cannot be utilized.

摘要: The present invention aims to avoid a needless increase in cable wiring when a cipher key is shared between other electronic devices upon encrypted wireless communication. A semiconductor integrated circuit comprises a wireless communication control circuit for the encrypted wireless communication, a processing unit for managing the cipher key, and a power line communication circuit. The semiconductor integrated circuit is operated by a power supply voltage supplied externally to the power line communication circuit via a power line. The power line communication circuit is coupled to other electronic devices via the power line. The wireless communication control circuit communicates with the other electronic devices by the encrypted wireless communication. Before the semiconductor integrated circuit performs encrypted wireless communication with other electronic devices using the wireless communication control circuit, the semiconductor integrated circuit supplies information about the cipher key to other electronic devices via the power line communication circuit.

摘要: A display control apparatus includes a comparison control unit which performs a cyclic redundancy check over an arbitrary region of image data. The comparison control unit includes a region control unit which selects a region of the image data based on comparison region information for specifying an arbitrary region of the image displayed on the display unit as a cyclic redundancy check target region, an arithmetic processing unit which performs arithmetic processing for the cyclic redundancy check over a region selected by the region control unit, and a comparison circuit which performs error detection by comparing the result of the arithmetic processing by the arithmetic processing unit with its expected value. Error detection by the cyclic redundancy check is performed only on the target region of the cyclic redundancy check in the arbitrary region, which facilitates the cyclic redundancy check.

摘要: Embodiments in accordance with the present invention relate to realizing content protection by enhancing data safety by detecting falsification of data stored in a storage device. A storage device in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes an HDA (Head Disk Assembly) and a controller, and a nonvolatile memory that is connected to the controller. When writing data on a hard disk from an external device, validity of access is authenticated. When the authentication is successful, a digest of the data to be written is generated by using a hush function. The generated digest is stored in the nonvolatile memory. When reading out data, a digest of the data to be read out is generated, and the digest stored in the nonvolatile memory is read out, followed by verification of whether or not the digests coincide with each other. Since there is a possibility of falsification in the case where the digests do not coincide with each other, the possibility of falsification is informed to the external device.

摘要: A first storage system is provided with a first storage device containing an encryption processing unit, and a controller having an encryption processing unit and an access control unit. The access control unit judges whether a writing destination in the case of having processed a write request from an upper-level device is a first logical volume or a second logical volume, and in the case of having judged to be a first logical volume, transmits write data to a first storage device corresponding to the first logical volume without encrypting in the encryption processing unit of the controller, while on the other hand, in the case of having judged the writing destination to be a second logical volume, transmits the write data to a second storage system after having encrypted the target writing data with the encryption processing unit of the controller.

摘要: A delivery of content to the unspecified number of persons is prevented by limiting the content delivery range. A delivery source terminal 110 generates an authentication code based on the number of possible transmission times of content and an authentication code key 116, and configures the number of possible transmission times and the generated authentication code in a packet. The delivery source terminal 110 transmits the packet to a delivery destination terminal 130. A router 120 verifies whether the authentication code generated based on the number of possible transmission times and the authentication code key 124 that are received agrees with the authentication code received from the delivery source terminal 110, updates the number of possible transmission times when the two codes agree, generates a new authentication code, and configures it in the packet. The router 120 transmits the packet thus generated to the delivery destination terminal 130.

摘要: A data processor which can flexibly control bandwidth settings and setting changes is provided. The data processor controls bandwidth allocation to electronic devices participating in a communication network. The data processor has a communication section used to communicate with the electronic devices and a bandwidth management section which performs control to variably allocate, based on requests from the electronic devices, bandwidths to be used for communication by the electronic devices. In cases where an additional device is added to the communication network and an adequate bandwidth cannot be allocated to the additional device, the bandwidth management section requests another electronic device transmitting video data of a resolution higher than corresponding to the user's intention to change its data format so as to allow an adequate bandwidth to be allocated to the additional device.
