摘要: An occupant detection system, includes a sensor, a controller, a base frame, and a heat insulator. In this occupant detection system, the sensor measures a weight of an occupant sitting on the vehicle seat. The controller detects a presence of the occupant on the vehicle seat. The base frame is fixed to one of a vehicle seat or a vehicle body and accommodates the sensor. The heat insulator is provided on the base frame and prevents a heat transfer between the base frame and the sensor.

摘要: A seat-weight sensor includes a load cell having a load sensor arranged therein and a support for holding a support shaft of the load cell. The support includes a convex portion to hold the support shaft and a pair of flange portions arranged at both sides of the convex portion and fixed to a vehicle floor side. The support has a pair of slots arranged at a perimeter of the convex portion and for reducing a physical effect that the pair of flanges provides to the convex portion.

摘要: A passenger detecting system includes a plurality of antenna electrodes provided in a seat, a signal generating section, a detecting section, a switching circuit and a control unit. The signal generating section generates an electrode signal. The switching circuit sequentially supplies the electrode signal to the plurality of antenna electrodes one by one in response to a switching control signal. The detecting section detects change of the electrode signal to generate a detection signal when the electrode signal is supplied to each of the plurality of antenna electrodes. The control unit outputs the switching control signal to the switching circuit and generates a passenger data associated with a passenger on the seat based on the detection signal for each of the plurality of antenna electrodes.

摘要: A passenger detecting system includes a plurality of antenna electrodes provided in a seat, a signal generating section, a detecting section, a switching circuit and a control unit. The signal generating section generates an electrode signal. The switching circuit sequentially supplies the electrode signal to the plurality of antenna electrodes one by one in response to a switching control signal. The detecting section detects change of the electrode signal to generate a detection signal when the electrode signal is supplied to each of the plurality of antenna electrodes. The control unit outputs the switching control signal to the switching circuit and generates a passenger data associated with a passenger on the seat based on the detection signal for each of the plurality of antenna electrodes.

摘要: A high-frequency generating circuit is connected to six electrode fabrics embedded in a seat back of an assistant driver's seat. Output current flowing at the time when a human body approaches the electrode fabrics is detected. It is determined whether an occupant is an adult or a child, by comparing patterns of the output current which correspond to the six electrode fabrics with a first threshold value and a second threshold value to detect the positions of the head, neck and shoulder of the occupant. When the occupant is a child having a short sitting height, the operation of an air bag device is prohibited upon collision of a vehicle, and a warning lamp is lit to move the occupant to a rear seat.

摘要: A sheet-shaped sensor body includes a first protective layer formed of a resist paste layer, an antenna film formed of a PET film, a first conductive layer formed of a silver layer, a second conductive layer formed of a carbon layer, a second protective layer formed of a resist paste layer and a hot-melt film, which are laminated one on another in sequence. When the hot-melt film of the sensor body is brought into abutment against a front surface of a wadding previously adhered to a pad of a seat back and is then heat-pressed, the sensor body is fixed firmly and reliably to the wadding by an adhesive force generated by the melted hot-melt film once it again cools and solidified. Thus, the sensor of an occupant detecting system for detecting the physical constitution and the attitude of an occupant sitting on a seat can be fixed easily and reliably to the seat back.

摘要: If a seat belt is not fastened, then a first switch is turned on and a second switch is turned off, and a fastened status detector outputs an impact decision level signal to a switch, which selects a signal from a first impact decision level output unit. Thus, when the speed of a motor vehicle is about 16 km/h or higher immediately prior to a collision, an air bag is inflated upon the collision. If the seat belt is fastened, then the first switch is turned off and the second switch is turned on, and the fastened status detector outputs an impact decision level signal, selecting a signal from a second impact decision level output unit. Thus, when the speed of the motor vehicle is about 24 km/h or higher immediately prior to a collision, the air bag is inflated upon the collision. If both the first and second switches are turned on or off due to a failure, the fastened status detector outputs the impact decision level signal, inflating the air bag when the vehicle speed of the motor vehicle immediately prior to a collision becomes greater than about 16 km/h, as is the case with the seat belt being not fastened. Even when the fastened state of the seat belt cannot be detected, therefore, vehicle occupants are protected safely by a vehicle occupant protection system.
