    摘要: A liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof are provided. The liquid crystal display includes a plurality of pixels, a plurality of scan lines, and a plurality of data lines. Each pixel includes a plurality of sub-pixels. Each sub-pixel is coupled to the data line, and includes a switch, a storage capacitor, and a sub-pixel electrode. The switch is coupled to a scan line to receive a scan signal. The switch is turned on by the scan signal to receive a data signal transmitted from the data line. The storage capacitors of the sub-pixels of each pixel are coupled to the scan lines, or the storage capacitor of one of the sub-pixels of each pixel is coupled to a common electrode and the storage capacitors of the other sub-pixels are coupled to the scan lines. The switch and the storage capacitor of each sub-pixel are coupled to different scan lines. The method includes transmitting the scan signal having a plurality of voltage levels to modulate the voltage levels of one or more sub-pixel electrodes of the sub-pixels of the same pixel, thereby enabling the sub-pixels of the same pixel to have different voltage levels.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof are provided. The liquid crystal display includes a plurality of pixels, a plurality of scan lines, and a plurality of data lines. Each pixel includes a plurality of sub-pixels. Each sub-pixel is coupled to the data line, and includes a switch, a storage capacitor, and a sub-pixel electrode. The switch is coupled to a scan line to receive a scan signal. The switch is turned on by the scan signal to receive a data signal transmitted from the data line. The storage capacitors of the sub-pixels of each pixel are coupled to the scan lines, or the storage capacitor of one of the sub-pixels of each pixel is coupled to a common electrode and the storage capacitors of the other sub-pixels are coupled to the scan lines. The switch and the storage capacitor of each sub-pixel are coupled to different scan lines. The method includes transmitting the scan signal having a plurality of voltage levels to modulate the voltage levels of one or more sub-pixel electrodes of the sub-pixels of the same pixel, thereby enabling the sub-pixels of the same pixel to have different voltage levels.

    摘要: In a multi-domain vertical alignment liquid crystal display wherein a pixel that has two sub-pixels, an additional switching element is used to achieve a voltage differential between the electrode voltage potential in one sub-pixel and the other during and after the charge-sharing period. The electrodes in the sub-pixels are connected to each other through a charge-sharing capacitor and a controlling switching element, such as another transistor. Before the charge-sharing period, the controlling switching element is operated in a non-conducting state and the voltage potentials of the sub-pixel electrodes are substantially equal. During the charge-sharing period, the controlling switching element is operated in a conducting state to facilitate charge-sharing. The additional switching element is used to achieve the voltage differential more effectively and without additional capacitors.

A gate driver drives a first pixel of the display via a first scanning line within a frame period including first and second data writing intervals. A first data voltage and a second data voltage are transmitted to the first pixel in the first and second data writing intervals, respectively. After the first data writing interval, a first color light source illuminates the first pixel. After the second data writing interval, a second color light source illuminates the first pixel. In a reset interval between the first and second data writing intervals, a voltage of a common line coupled to a storage capacitor of the first pixel is changed from a first common voltage to a second common voltage so that a voltage of a first liquid crystal capacitor of the first pixel is changed.

A gate driver drives a first pixel of the display via a first scanning line within a frame period including first and second data writing intervals. A first data voltage and a second data voltage are transmitted to the first pixel in the first and second data writing intervals, respectively.     摘要: Disclosed is a method for driving a display panel. The display panel includes a plurality of unit pixels and a plurality of switches. The switches are used for controlling the unit pixels to display. The method includes transmitting a plurality of gate signals to the switches for driving the switches. More, the driving method also includes transmitting a plurality of data signals to the switches for providing a plurality of pixel voltages to the unit pixels and providing common voltages to the unit pixels as well as generating the potential differences with the common voltage and the pixel voltages of the unit pixels for controlling the display of the unit pixels by a group time. The total amount of potential differences in each unit pixel in the group time is substantially equal to zero. The group time includes a plurality of driving unit times. In each driving unit time, at least one group of pixels displays. A group of pixels includes a plurality of grayscale levels of brightness. The total brightness of the grayscale levels accords with a predetermined brightness. Therefore, the display not only can increase its viewing angel, but also can avoid residual image caused from residual charge.
