    摘要: A gas instrument determiner section included in a flow meter device determines whether or not a gas instrument in use is a fuel cell, by comparing an actual measurement value of a gas flow measured at first measurement time intervals in a first determination operation period from when inflowing of the gas starts until a predetermined time lapses, to determination flow data, and by comparing an actual measurement value measured at second measurement time intervals longer than the first measurement time interval in a second determination operation period which ends after the first determination operation period ends, to determination flow data. This makes it possible to accurately determine the gas instrument in use even when the gas instrument in use is the fuel cell.

    摘要: A fluid deflecting assembly is disclosed primarily for use in an outlet port of an air conditioning unit for controlling the direction of an air flow discharged from the outlet port. The fluid deflecting assembly comprises a tubular body having a flow passage for passing a fluid flow axially therethrough, a nozzle body mounted on the tubular body and having a nozzle disposed downstream of the flow passage in a direction of the fluid flow, a restriction surface extending downstream of the flow passage in surrounding relation to the nozzle, and a guide wall surface extending downstream of the nozzle and flaring radially outwardly from the nozzle in surrounding relation thereto, and a bias flow shield disposed in the flow passage upstream of and radially outwardly of the nozzle for adjustably blocking a portion of a bias fluid flow directed by the restriction surface toward the nozzle. A fluid flow discharged out of the nozzle is deflected by the bias fluid flow as modified by the bias flow shield so as to be attached to the guide wall surface. The discharged fluid flow can be deflected in desired three-dimensional directions through a wide angle by rotating and/or axially moving the bias flow shield.

    摘要: An ultrasonic flow meter includes a conduit through which a fluid flows, an ultrasonic generator, a receiver for receiving ultrasonic waves on the upstream or downstream side of the generator, a time counter for determining the propagation time of the ultrasonic wave, a flow rate calculator for calculating the flow rate from the propagation time, and a timing controller. The timing controller sets a delay time corresponding to the flow rate measured from the relation between a flow rate which is set in advance, and the measured delay time. After the passage of this delay time the ultrasonic wave is emitted from the generator on the basis of a driving signal outputted from a trigger section and the flow rate is determined. Since the flow rate is thus measured with the delay time suitable for the flow rate, the flow rate is correctly determined, and power consumption is reduced.

    摘要: A fluid deflecting assembly for deflecting a fluid medium in any desired direction, particularly suited for use in an air conditioner, which has a nozzle for issuing a main stream of fluid as the fluid passes therethrough, a guide wall at a position downstream of the nozzle and having substantially a diverging shape in a direction downstream with respect to the direction of flow of the main stream and opening outwardly in a direction away from the nozzle, and a control device for controlling the mode of flow of the fluid at a position upstream of the nozzle. The nozzle has a relatively small thickness in the direction of flow of the fluid therethrough and is so shaped as to constrict the flow of the fluid as the latter passes therethrough.

    摘要: A gas leakage detection system includes a flow path, a dual mode valve disposed in the flow path, an ultrasonic measuring section including a pair of ultrasonic transducers, disposed in the flow path upstream from the dual mode valve, a flow rate calculation section for computing a flow rate based on a signal from the ultrasonic measuring section, and a control section for controlling the dual mode valve. The control section closes or opens the dual mode valve instantaneously, and the flow rate calculation section computes a flow rate when the dual mode valve is closed. Thus, gas leakage can be decided substantially without stopping a gas flow when a user is using the gas.

    摘要: An air conditioner including an air intake, a blower for drawing air into the air conditioner through the air intake, a heat exchanger in the path of the air, and an air exit structure in the path of the air. The air exit structure is a plate-like sheet of rigid material having an aperture therein forming a nozzle for issuing a main stream of air as the air passes therethrough. A control chamber downstream of the nozzle develops a pressure differential in the main stream of air flowing from the nozzle as it flows between a pair of spaced opposed diverging walls to control the direction of flow of the stream. The pressure differential is developed by closing control apertures in the chamber by interceptors over the control apertures.
