Abstract:
A self-actuating and self regulation heat exchange system comprising: evaporator 16, condenser 34, bladder sub-system 42, phase-change fluid 24 and connecting tubes, is a device and an apparatus useful to transport thermal energy from a relatively hot zone to a relatively cold zone, over distance, and around or through obstructions. The bladder sub system, consisting of an expandable bladder and two one-way check-valves, utilizes the pressure difference in the system created during evaporation and condensation to make the phase-change fluid circulate inside the closed loop system, transferring thermal energy from evaporator to condenser. The operation of the device is self started, self regulated and the device is almost independent of gravity, and the orientation.
Abstract:
A multi-band high gain mixer and quadrature signal generator allows a receiver system to receive signals at multiple frequency bands without requiring significant hardware duplication. A single mixer directly receives any of three communication frequency bands such as Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS), Personal Communication Services (PCS), Digital Communication System (DCS), and Japan and US W-CDMA 800 bands without amplification. A Serial-Parallel Interface selectably forwards RF signals within the receiver's frequency channels to the mixer for demodulation into in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) signals at a common IF output from the multi-mode receiver. Significant power and cost advantages are attained by elimination of duplicate mixers and amplifier stages.
Abstract:
An automated testing system is provided that includes a computer system, a handset, script and scripting interface, a test module, and a data comparison component. The handset has at least one application resident thereon to be tested. The handset is coupled to communicate with the computer system. The script executes on the computer system and is operable to generate an input to the application on the handset to test the application. The test module is embedded in a source code of the application. The test module is operable to monitor a response by the application to the input by the script. The data comparison component compares the response by the application monitored by the test module to an expected response.
Abstract:
The present invention is a novel method and apparatus for burn-in testing an electronic device. A device under test (DUT) is attached to a burn-in board (BIB), a thermally conductive sheet is placed atop the DUT, the BIB is placed in an environmentally-controlled burn-in oven, and current is applied to the DUT. A test signal can be sent to the DUT and data received from the DUT to determine whether the DUT is working properly. Aluminum, copper, or any material as thermally conductive as aluminum may be used in the sheet. The sheet may have top or bottom surface areas that conduct more heat away from the device and into the ambient environment than that conducted by a flat sheet. The sheet may be applied to a plurality of DUTs simultaneously. Further, a second thermally conductive sheet may be located underneath the BIB and in thermal contact with it.
Abstract:
A fish scaling device having a dual cutting blade for alternately removing scales of a fish and thereafter removing the inner visceral tissues of the fish. The device preferably includes a pair of upper sharp surfaces having mutually opposite end points, with the upper sharp surfaces each being convex in shape and defining a gap therebetween. The convex surfaces adapt to the inner visceral concave surfaces of the inside of the fish being cleaned. In addition, oppositely disposed to the sharp, smooth blade surfaces are a pair of convex serrated blades having mutually opposite end points, with the serrated blades defining a gap therebetween. In an alternate version a rotating blade set is provided with alternate serrated and generally sharp, smooth blade surfaces.
