摘要： A color filter substrate includes a transparent substrate with first and second opposed edges, a color filter layer including color filters of first, second and third types extending in a first direction with the third type interposed between the first and second types, and an opaque layer including opaque portions extending in the first direction and another opaque portion connected to the other opaque portions along the second edge. The color filter substrate is fabricated by (a) forming the opaque layer on the transparent substrate, and then (b) forming the color filter layer thereon. The step (a) includes forming an opening in a non-effective display area of the color filter substrate between one end of each color filter of the third type and the second edge. The step (b) includes attaching and rolling a dry film in the first direction on the transparent substrate after the color filters of the first and second types have been provided thereon.

The active matrix substrate is an active matrix substrate and includes a thin film transistor disposed at an intersection of a scanning signal line with a data signal line on a substrate, the thin film transistor including a gate electrode connected to the scanning signal line, a source electrode connected to the data signal line, and a drain electrode connected to a drain lead-out wiring; a storage capacitor upper electrode connected to the drain lead-out wiring and a pixel electrode; and a storage capacitor wiring overlapping with the storage capacitor upper electrode through an insulating film, wherein the storage capacitor wiring has an extending portion overlapping with the drain lead-out wiring through the insulating film.

摘要： A color filter substrate and a liquid crystal display apparatus include, on a substrate: a colorized layer including color layers; a stacked layer protruding in comparison with the colorized layer; an opposing electrode covering the colorized layer and the stacked layer; an alignment layer formed at least on a part of the opposing electrode covering the colorized layer; and an insulating layer stacked on an entire surface of another part of the opposing electrode covering the stacked layer. With this, the short circuit between the opposing electrode and a pixel electrode is prevented, so that a color filter substrate, a liquid crystal display apparatus including the color filter substrate, and a method of manufacturing the color substrate, those being able to improve the yield of the liquid crystal display apparatus, are provided.

The upper surfaces of the plurality of first light shielding portions and the plurality of color filters form a substantially flat surface.

摘要： A color filter substrate is used in a display device including pixels arranged in columns and rows to define a matrix pattern. The color filter substrate includes a transparent substrate and coloring layers, including a first color filter layer, a second color filter layer and an light shielding layer, provided on the transparent substrate. The first and second color filter layers include a first color filter column and a second color filter column, respectively, each of which is arranged for an associated column of pixels. The light shielding layer includes an light shielding column, which is provided for a gap between two adjacent columns of pixels. In a gap between two pixels that are adjacent in a row direction, an intercolumnar overlap area, in which the light shielding column and at least one of the first and second color filter columns overlap each other, and an intercolumnar non-overlap area, in which the light shielding column is overlapped by neither the first nor the second color filter column, are defined, and the intercolumnar non-overlap area is defined so as to extend continuously in the row direction through the gap between the two adjacent pixels.

The color filter layer includes first, second, and third types of color filters, which transmit light rays in mutually different colors. The undercoat layer is made of the same film as one of the first, second and third types of color filters and the light-shield layer. A portion of the undercoat layer, associated with a first one of the columnar spacers, has a different area and/or shape from another portion of the undercoat layer, associated with a second one of the columnar spacers. The first and second columnar spacers have mutually different heights.

摘要： The present invention is a color filter substrate comprising: a non-laminated part in which a colored layer and/or a transparent layer are arranged in a plane; and a laminated part in which parts of the colored layer and/or the transparent layer are laminated as two or more layers on a substrate, (1) a film thickness of a layer constituting the laminated part is not less than 90% and not more than 110% to a film thickness of a corresponding layer of the non-laminated part and/or (2) the colored layer and/or the transparent layer are formed using a dry film having a solid-phase resist layer having penetration amount in a penetration hardness test at 120° C. of not more than 0.5 μm.
