    Abstract: An inductor includes a body that includes a coil and that contains a magnetic portion in which the coil is embedded, and a pair of outer electrodes that is disposed on a mounting surface of the body. The coil includes a winding portion formed by winding a conductive wire that has a coating layer and that has a pair of wide surfaces, and a pair of extended portions that extends from the winding portion. The pair of extended portions includes a twisted portion that is connected to the winding portion. The twisted portion is twisted about a virtual center line of an end portion of the winding portion, and a twisted part bends toward the mounting surface about an axis substantially perpendicular to the wide surfaces at the end portion. End portions of the pair of extended portions near the mounting surface are connected to the pair of outer electrodes.

    Abstract: A coil component includes an element body and a coil conductor provided inside the element body, in which the element body has a substantially rectangular shape and has upper and lower surfaces facing each other in a winding axis direction of the coil conductor and first to fourth side surfaces. The element body includes a first magnetic body portion and a second magnetic body portion provided on a main surface of the first magnetic body portion. The coil conductor includes a winding portion and first and second extended portions extended to any side surface of the element body. The first magnetic body portion includes on the main surface thereof an outer convex portion and an inner convex portion provided outside and inside the winding portion, respectively. The outer convex portion is exposed only on one side surface or two adjacent side surfaces of the element body.

    Abstract: An inductor includes a coil including a winding section and extended sections, a body containing the coil and having a bottom surface and end surfaces adjacent to the bottom surface and opposed to each other, and outer electrodes on at least the bottom surface and connected to the extended sections. The winding-axis direction of the coil intersects with the bottom surface. The conductor has a cross section with a rectangular shape defined by thickness and width and has first surfaces defined by its extending direction and the thickness direction and second surfaces defined by the extending direction and the width direction. The winding section is spirally wound such that the second surfaces are on an outer side and on an inner side, respectively, and is wound in two tiers connected in their innermost locations, and both ends are in outermost locations in the tiers, respectively.

    Abstract: An inductor includes a body including a magnetic portion and a coil embedded in the magnetic portion and outer electrodes. The coil includes a wound portion formed by winding a conductive wire having a pair of wide surfaces in upper and lower layers and first and second lead-out portions extending from end portions of the wound portion at outermost peripheries of the upper and lower layers. One wide surface of a distal end portion of the first lead-out portion is exposed at a mounting surface of the body, a first surface adjacent to the mounting surface, and a corner portion therebetween. One wide surface of a distal end portion of the second lead-out portion is exposed at the mounting surface, a second surface adjacent to the mounting surface, and a corner portion therebetween. The outer electrodes cover the exposed wide surfaces of the first and second lead-out portions.

    Abstract: An inductor includes a body, and outer electrodes that are formed on the body. The body includes a core that includes a base and a pillar-shaped portion that is disposed on an upper surface of the base, a coil that includes a winding portion formed by winding a conductive wire around the pillar-shaped portion and extended portions that extend from the winding portion and that are connected to the outer electrodes, and a magnetic portion that encloses the coil and at least a part of the core and that contains magnetic powder and a resin. The base has a lower surface opposite the upper surface, side surfaces, and a notch surface that is located between the side surfaces. The extended portions extend along the notch surface from positions near the upper surface of the base toward the lower surface. The notch surface is covered by the magnetic portion.
