By doing this, not only ringing and noise enhancement can effectively be suppressed but also the border between the areas which is conspicuous when the image is divided into two kinds of areas becomes less conspicuous, so that a natural restored image can be obtained.

    摘要: An illumination component extractor is operable to extract an illumination component from input image data by: performing a smoothing process a certain number of times to generate a plurality of smooth image data having resolutions different from one another from the input image data, the smoothing process including an operation of filtering the input image data with use of a low-pass filter having a predetermined size and an operation of downsampling the filtered input image data; and performing an inverse-smoothing process a certain number of times, the inverse-smoothing process including an operation of replacing an edge portion of a smooth image data having a lower resolution with a smooth image data having a higher resolution, and an operation of upsampling the replaced smooth image data. The input image data is color image data which has been obtained by an image sensor including a number of pixels having different spectral sensitivities.

Exposure control is executed by performing the exposure amount control and the dynamic range control based on a photoelectric conversion characteristic, by using exposure evaluation values detected by an evaluation value detector 405, based on the priority set by the calculation priority setter 5111 (5111a). This arrangement provides an image sensing apparatus capable of performing exposure control with high latitude, wherein a user is allowed to capture a subject in an optimal exposure state, with an appropriate dynamic range being secured, and control primarily based on the exposure amount control or control primarily based on the dynamic range control is performed on the priority basis.

    摘要: An electronic shutter control system provided with an imaging device, a driving circuit to drive and control the imaging device and an exposure control circuit to output a signal to the drive circuit. The shutter opens in synchronization with a signal to read out electric charge in a photoelectric converter section to a vertical transfer section. The vertical transfer section is held in a state enabling readout of the signal after cleaning out an unnecessary electric charge. As a result, an electric charge is read out simultaneously with the close of the shutter. According to an electronic shutter controlling method, fast reverse transfer is stopped at a level of the proper exposure less the predetermined amount and an electric charge signal is read out to the vertical transfer section, waiting for the potential of the vertical transfer section to achieve a state wherein it can receive the electric charge signal.
