Abstract: A card reader may include a card insertion port; a magnetoresistive (MR) sensor; and a disturbing magnetic field generator, wherein the card may include a magnetic stripe, and magnetic data recorded in the magnetic stripe may be arranged in a moving direction of the card inserted through the card insertion port. Abstract: A card reader may include a card insertion part which is formed with an insertion port for the card; and a conveying passage for the card which is connected with the insertion port. The card insertion part may include a shutter member disposed on a rear side with respect to the insertion port is movable between a closed position an open position; and a protruding member which is attached to the shutter member and is protruded from the shutter member to an insertion port side. An insertion port side of the protruding member may be formed with a card abutting face. A distance between the insertion port and the card abutting face in a conveying direction of the card may be set to be shorter than a width in the short widthwise direction of the card.

Abstract: A card reader may include a card insertion part which is formed with an insertion port into which the card is inserted; and a magnetic sensor which is provided in the card insertion part and is structured to detect whether magnetic data are recorded on the card or not. The magnetic sensor may be disposed so as to secure a space between the card inserted into the insertion port and the magnetic sensor. The magnetic data may be arranged in a longitudinal direction of the card. Abstract: A card reader may include a card conveying mechanism; a guide; a magnetic head; a positioning member to position the card relative to the magnetic head; and a shutter. The positioning member may include a card abutting part to abut a third direction end of the card; and a card support part to contact a first direction side of the card.
