Abstract: According to an example embodiment, a method may include determining, by a wireless node in a cell, a silent resource pattern for each of a plurality of signal waveform types including at least a single carrier waveform type and a multicarrier waveform type, wherein each silent resource pattern identifies one or more resource elements that are indicated as unused by at least one node of the cell for the signal waveform type; determining, by the wireless node, whether a signal waveform type, of the plurality of signal waveform types, for channel sensing is known by the wireless node; performing, by the wireless node if a signal waveform type for channel sensing is known by the wireless node, channel sensing based on a silent resource pattern for a known signal waveform type for channel sensing of the plurality of signal waveform types; and otherwise, performing, by the wireless node if the signal wave form type for channel sensing is not known by the wireless node, channel sensing based on a silent resource pattern for each of a plurality of the signal waveform types.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to secondary cell activation. A method comprises transmitting, from a first apparatus and on a serving cell in an active status, a MAC layer command for activating at least one secondary cell to a second apparatus, the MAC layer command indicating a configuration on a procedure for activating the at least one secondary cell. The method further comprises receiving an acknowledgement for the MAC layer command from the second apparatus. The method further comprises causing the second apparatus to synchronize, based on at least the configuration and the acknowledgement, with the first apparatus on the at least one secondary cell. As such, the time for activating a Scell can be greatly shortened.

Abstract: In accordance with example embodiments of the invention there is at least a method and apparatus to perform receiving, by a network device, information comprising a multiple transmission time interval uplink grant with cyclic redundancy check bits scrambled by a radio network temporary identifier; determining, by the network device of a communication network, a subset of data transmissions of a previous burst of data transmissions to be retransmitted by the network device; and performing by the network device retransmission of the subset of data transmissions using scheduled resources of the uplink grant. In addition, to perform determining, by a network node of a communication network, information comprising a multiple transmission time interval uplink grant with cyclic redundancy check bits scrambled by a radio network temporary identifier to identify a subset of data transmissions of a previous burst of data transmissions to be retransmitted by a network device; and sending the information towards the network device for use in retransmission of the subset of data transmissions using scheduled resources of the uplink grant.

Abstract: A technique may include controlling downlink transmission of an uplink grant for one or more uplink data transmissions by a communication device. The uplink grant identifies one combination from a set of predetermined combinations of one or more transmission time intervals and one or more uplink reference signal transmissions, including at least one combination of two or more transmission time intervals and one or more uplink reference signal transmissions. The technique may also include using the one or more uplink reference signal transmissions of the identified combination to assist the recovery of data from the one or more uplink radio data transmissions by the communication device in the one or more transmission time intervals of the identified combination.

Abstract: A base station in a wireless network receives, from a UE in the wireless network, a message indicating the UE requests a gap for the UE to perform self-calibration of full-duplex communication. The UE sends a message indicating the UE requests a gap in order for the UE to perform self-calibration of full duplex calibration. The UE receives, from the base station, indication of the gap. The UE performs the self-calibration of full duplex calibration using the gap.
