    Abstract: One radar excitation signal has a first burst duration and a first sampling period. Another radar excitation signal has a second burst duration and a second sampling period. The first sampling period of the first signal is configured for scanning a velocity range and the second sampling period of the second signal is configured for scanning a portion of the velocity range, and the first burst duration is smaller than the second burst duration. The at least two radar excitation signals are embedded into a frame structure for a wireless communications system. At least one radar operation comprising at least one transmission based on the frame structure is performed. In this way the overhead of the radar excitation signals on the air interface of the wireless communications system may be controlled, while supporting a fine velocity resolution and a sufficiently large maximum velocity for a monitored target.

    Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from appropriate configuration of reception states. For example, certain wireless communication systems, such as new radio, may benefit from control monitoring upon receipt of a discontinuous reception trigger. A method can including receiving, by a user equipment, configuration of a search space set of a downlink control resource set with a first monitoring periodicity. The method can also include receiving a trigger or the user equipment becoming active after a period without physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring. The method can further include, after the receiving of the trigger or the becoming active, modifying a monitoring periodicity of the search space set to a second monitoring periodicity.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for managing or monitoring of the control channel in new radio (NR) through blind searches are provided. One method may include configuring, by a network node, multiple search spaces, sets of search spaces, and/or control resource sets, to a user equipment, that results in monitoring occasions where more blind decodings are required than allowed by capability of the user equipment. The method may further include identifying the monitoring occasions for which an allowed number of blind decodings is exceeded, determining a reduced set of blind decodings and/or candidates determined by predefined search space priorities or rules, and transmitting physical downlink control channel(s) to the user equipment given the reduced set.
