Abstract: The disclosure relates to range-determining-module for a transceiver, configured to: receive a signal comprising a received-data-packet, identify a plurality of known-sequence-sections of the received-data-packet, each known-sequence-section containing a known-data-sequence that is known to the range-determining-module; determine a reception-time-stamp associated with each of the plurality of known-sequence-sections; verify the received-data-packet using the reception-time-stamps associated with different respective known-sequence-sections of the received-data-packet; and provide a verified range estimate in accordance with one or more of the time stamps of the verified received-data-packet.

Abstract: In accordance with a first aspect of the present disclosure, a communication device is provided, comprising: an ultra-wideband (UWB) communication unit configured to set up a UWB communication channel with a first external communication device; a further communication unit configured to set up a further communication channel with a second external communication device; an antenna configured to be selectively used by the UWB communication unit and the further communication unit; wherein the UWB communication unit is operatively coupled to the further communication unit, and wherein the further communication unit is configured to grant the UWB communication unit access to said antenna in response to receiving a request from the UWB communication unit. This aspect represents a solution to the problem of how to facilitate avoiding that UWB ranging rounds fail in a co-existence system.

Abstract: A method is described synchronization in a communication system which comprises a master anchor device, a first anchor device, and a second anchor device. The method comprises: i) transmitting, by the master anchor device, a first message to the first anchor device and to the second anchor device using a first ultra-wide band (UWB) communication, wherein the first message is indicative of a master clock of the master anchor device receiving, by the first anchor device, the first message, and synchronizing a first clock of the first anchor device based on the master clock, and iii) receiving, by the second anchor device, the first message, and synchronizing a second clock of the second anchor device based on the master clock. Furthermore, a communication system and a use of UWB communication is described.
