摘要: A plurality of copying machines (12), (13), (14) are connected to a computer (39). Each copying machine (12), (13), (14) comprises sensor means (16), (17), (18), (19), (21), (22), (23), (24) for sensing various operating parameters thereof such as a total number of copies produced, machine malfunctions, amounts of remaining copy sheets and toner, etc. These parameters are all transmitted to the computer (39) which processes and prints them out. In response to a copying machine malfunction the computer (39) feeds back to the malfunctioning copying machine instructions for correction. The instructions are displayed at the copying machine. The computer (39) further computes the degree of degeneration of the photoconductive element of each copying machine (12), (13), (14) and controls the imaging exposure intensity and developing bias voltage in accordance therewith.

摘要: The vertical and horizontal lengths of an original document (28) are automatically sensed and compared with the vertical and horizontal lengths of a copy sheet (38) and the reduction ratio of a variable magnification optical system (33) is automatically adjusted in accordance therewith so that the maximum length of the image of the document (28) is equal to the corresponding vertical or horizontal length of the copy sheet (38). The image may be selectively parallel to the vertical length or the horizontal length of the copy sheet (38) regardless of whether the image is parallel to the vertical or horizontal length of the document (28). In one form (21) of the invention the document (28) is placed on a platen (27) so that the image is parallel to the vertical length of the platen (27) regardless of whether the image is parallel to the vertical or horizontal length of the document (28). In another form (71) of the invention, the document (28) is placed on the platen (74) so that the vertical length of the document (28) is parallel to the vertical length of the platen (74) regardless of whether the image is parallel to the vertical or horizontal length of the document (28). In the latter form (71) a lever (76) or the like is manually changed over to indicate whether the image is parallel to the vertical or horizontal length of the document (28) and the optical axis of the light image is rotated to one of two positions angularly spaced 90.degree. from each other in accordance with the position of the lever (76).

摘要: An apparatus for cleaning an endless photosensitive surface includes a photoreceptor rotatable around a horizontal axis in an electrophotographic copying machine. A cleaning roller and an edge of a blade are maintained in frictional engagement with the upper run of the rotating surface and into the space between the roller and the blade, a cleaning liquid is continuously supplied onto the surface between the blade edge and the cleaning roller, thereby achieving an effective cleaning function. The liquid within the space tending to flow over the other edge of the blade remote from the photosensitive surface and to then drip on the cleaned surface, is effectively prevented in accordance with the invention.

摘要: Disclosed herewith is a radio communication apparatus capable of selecting proper one of plural communication modes such as a MIMO communication system so as to obtain a higher communication rate within a range in which chain retransmission occurrence is prevented. The MIMO system deciding section of the transmitter unit decides a proper MIMO system with reference to the CQI value demultiplexed by a demultiplexer and the AMC table controlling section changes the MCS value step by step according to the transmission count and the result (success/failure) of the communication. Furthermore, the AMC table controlling section updates the mean rate in the measured rate table when the subject data is received successfully or when the transmission count reaches the maximum value.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an image former for forming an unfixed toner image on a recording material, and a fixer for fixing the unfixed toner image on the recording material. The fixer includes a rotatable member for forming a fixing nip for nipping and feeding the recording material, and a cleaner, movable toward and away from the rotatable member, for cleaning the rotatable member. The apparatus is operable in a blankless image formation mode for forming the toner image without a blank at least at one of a leading end and a trailing end of the recording material. The cleaner contacts the rotatable member when a portion of the rotatable member in a blankless range at the leading end or the trailing end of the recording material reaches a position where the portion opposes the cleaner.

摘要: Provided is a bit interleaved coded modulation-iterative decoding (BICM-ID) technique suffering a small loss in a transfer rate. A BICM-ID technique allowing a decoder to treat a small processing quantity is also provided. Encoding is carried out according to a code based on an iterative code. Encoded bits are reordered during interleaving processing, subjected to multi-valued modulation through extended mapping, and then transmitted. The extended mapping includes number-of-bits thinning processing of thinning l bits into m bits (m

摘要: In order to accomplish efficient communication of data between a base station and a plurality of mobile terminals, particular orthogonal codes are transmitted from the mobile stations to the base station as alert signals indicating the presence of data to be transmitted. The base station checks whether particular orthogonal codes are contained in the alert signals, and when the particular orthogonal codes are detected in the alert signals, information representing the detected orthogonal codes and the schedules for transmitting the data from the mobile terminals to the base station are transmitted from the base station to the mobile terminals as an alert response to the alert signals. When the information representing the orthogonal codes used for the alert signals are contained in the alert response transmitted from the base station to the mobile terminals, the data waiting to be transmitted is transmitted from the mobile terminals to the base station according the data transmission schedules in the alert response.
