A microcomputer (31) is provided at one of the copying machines (12) for storing and processing the status parameters and producing a hard copy.

    摘要： A plurality of copying machines (12), (13), (14) are connected to a computer (39). Each copying machine (12), (13), (14) comprises sensor means (16), (17), (18), (19), (21), (22), (23), (24) for sensing various operating parameters thereof such as a total number of copies produced, machine malfunctions, amounts of remaining copy sheets and toner, etc. These parameters are all transmitted to the computer (39) which processes and prints them out. In response to a copying machine malfunction the computer (39) feeds back to the malfunctioning copying machine instructions for correction. The instructions are displayed at the copying machine. The computer (39) further computes the degree of degeneration of the photoconductive element of each copying machine (12), (13), (14) and controls the imaging exposure intensity and developing bias voltage in accordance therewith.

    摘要： The vertical and horizontal lengths of an original document (28) are automatically sensed and compared with the vertical and horizontal lengths of a copy sheet (38) and the reduction ratio of a variable magnification optical system (33) is automatically adjusted in accordance therewith so that the maximum length of the image of the document (28) is equal to the corresponding vertical or horizontal length of the copy sheet (38). The image may be selectively parallel to the vertical length or the horizontal length of the copy sheet (38) regardless of whether the image is parallel to the vertical or horizontal length of the document (28). In one form (21) of the invention the document (28) is placed on a platen (27) so that the image is parallel to the vertical length of the platen (27) regardless of whether the image is parallel to the vertical or horizontal length of the document (28). In another form (71) of the invention, the document (28) is placed on the platen (74) so that the vertical length of the document (28) is parallel to the vertical length of the platen (74) regardless of whether the image is parallel to the vertical or horizontal length of the document (28). In the latter form (71) a lever (76) or the like is manually changed over to indicate whether the image is parallel to the vertical or horizontal length of the document (28) and the optical axis of the light image is rotated to one of two positions angularly spaced 90.degree. from each other in accordance with the position of the lever (76).

    摘要： A recording apparatus includes a first record mode for recording an image on one or both sides of a sheet and a second record mode for recording two pages of images on one side of a sheet and two pages of images on the other side of the sheet. The apparatus also includes a first bind mode for stacking the sheets which have undergone the first record mode on a staple tray and then binding the sheets by a stapler of a type which drives a staple into an edge of a stack of the sheets from above the stack, and a second bind mode for stacking the sheets which have undergone the second record mode and then binding the sheets at a center of the sheets. The recording apparatus provides for a particular order of pages and reduces cost and space by utilizing a stapler of the type which drives a staple from above a paper stack and a staple tray for both of an edge bind mode and a center bind mode.

    摘要： A copier with an image editing function which extracts desired areas of a plurality of documents in an analog fashion and allows them to be edited on a single transfer sheet. The copier includes an erasing device for selectively erasing an image provided on a photoconductive element, a detaining device for temporarily detaining a transfer sheet, an image inputting device for inputting an image of an original document, and a display device for displaying an input condition. Desired areas of documents are specified and edited with the aid of displays and then copied. Where the specified areas of the documents overlap each other, one of them having priority over the other or a selected one of them is copied. The number of areas to be edited is open to choice. The specified areas are entered through editing keys and usual ten keys. The erasing device is driven by a controller which is responsive to digital signals which are derived from position setting knobs associated with two perpendicular scales. Different colors are used to in correspondence with specified areas or documents. After copying, sheets are stocked in different positions on the basis of an edited content. An image portion inside or outside a specified area is selectable.

    摘要： The size of a copy to be produced from an original in document copying is changed by moving a lens and mirrors to vary the optical path length of an optical system while keeping the original and a photosensitive element in fixed positions. The lens and the mirrors are moved in a direction in which they intersect the principal light ray simultaneously as they are moved in the direction of the principal light ray, so that one side edge of the copied image of the original can be kept in the same position regardless of the rate at which the original is enlarged or reduced in producing a copy. Thus, it is merely necessary to set the copy sheet in the copy sheet container in such a manner that one side edge of the copy sheet is brought into agreement with a predetermined position, thereby facilitating setting of the copy sheet in document copying.
