摘要： A protective film for a polarizing membrane is provided which is prevented in light leakage generation, and excellent in moldability. The protective film contains a polyamide resin, and is subjected to an orientation (e.g., a drawing) to have a retardation value of not less than 300 nm. The polyamide resin may also contain an alicyclic polyamide resin, e.g., a resin whose monomers are an alicyclic diamine and an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid. The polyamide resin may have microcrystallinity. The Abbe number of the polyamide resin may be not less than 40.

摘要： A high-density information recording carrier such as an optical disk which is used for recording and/or playing back information carried on a plastic substrate by means of laser beams has an improved protective layer between a recording layer and the plastic substrate. The protective layer is made of inorganic glass made of alkali-free glass containing less than 1 wt % of alkali metal oxides. The resulting optical disk shows improved durability, higher C/N, lower BER and higher film forming rate.

摘要： An elastic hard fiber composed mainly of polyisobutylene oxide and having an elastic recovery ratio of at least 70% from 50% extension and a work recovery ratio of at least 70% from 5% extension, is prepared by extruding molten polyisobutylene oxide at a temperature of from 175.degree. C up to the decomposition temperature thereof, cooling the extrudate rapidly to a temperature of -20.degree. to 70.degree. C, and spinning it at a draw ratio of 50 to 1000.

摘要： Polyisobutylene oxide polymer moldings containing 70 wt. % or more of isobutylene oxide, are prepared by heating the polymer to a temperature above 170.degree.C and then quickly cooling the same by contacting it with a coolant to obtain crystalline resin having a diffraction peak at about 2.theta.=12.degree. in the X-ray diffraction pattern of the resin.
