    摘要: A method and apparatus for an automatic gain control circuit (AGC) that utilizes freezing and unfreezing states. A freezing process moves the AGC into a TRANSITION state from a NORMAL state, based on net change of VGA gain control codes over a monitoring time window. The freezing process then moves the AGC into a FROZEN state from the TRANSITION state, based on net change of VGA gain control codes over the monitoring time window. An unfreezing process moves the AGC into the NORMAL state from the FROZEN state, based on signal amplitude changes at the output of the VGA or other parameters of the VGA.

    摘要: A threshold adjustment circuit including: a current DAC for supplying or sinking a varying current; a differential pair of thin oxide transistors coupled to the DAC and coupled together at a common source node; a power supply for providing a supply voltage having a voltage level above reliability of the thin oxide transistors; and a third transistor for maintaining voltage of the common source node above a predetermined level and to disable the threshold adjustment circuit. The bulk and source of each of the differential pair thin oxide transistors is coupled to the common source node and each of the differential pair thin oxide transistors is switched by a signal to keep each of the differential pair thin oxide transistors in saturation region.

    摘要: Embodiments of threshold adjustment circuits are disclosed. An example circuit includes a first differential pair of first and second thin oxide transistors. The first and second thin oxide transistors decrease a DC voltage component of a first and/or second component of an input signal of the circuit. The example circuit further includes a second differential pair of third and fourth thin oxide transistors. The second and third thin oxide transistors increase a DC voltage component of the first and/or the second component of the input signal. The example circuit also includes a power supply that provides a supply voltage to the circuit, the power supply having a voltage level above a reliability level of the thin oxide transistors. In the example circuit, each of the differential pair thin oxide transistors is switched by a signal that keeps each of the first, second, third, and fourth thin oxide transistors operating in saturation.

    摘要: An apparatus and method is disclosed to compensate for one or more offsets in a communications signal. A communications receiver may carry out an offset adjustment algorithm to compensate for the one or more offsets. An initial search procedure determines one or more signal metric maps for one or more selected offset adjustment corrections from the one or more offset adjustment corrections. The offset adjustment algorithm determines one or more optimal points for one or more selected offset adjustment correction based upon the one or more signal maps. The adaptive offset algorithm adjusts each of the one or more selected offset adjustment corrections to their respective optimal points and/or each of one or more non-selected offset adjustment corrections to a corresponding one of a plurality of possible offset corrections to provide one or more adjusted offset adjustment corrections. A tracking mode procedure optimizes the one or more adjusted offset adjustment corrections.
