    摘要: A manifold system (50) comprising a main manifold (56) with a plurality of arms (64), a plurality of sub-manifolds (52) spaced from the main manifold (56) and communicating with the main manifold (56) through a plurality of melt transfer bushings (68) disposed between the main manifold (56) and the sub-manifolds (52). The melt transfer bushings (68) may include static mixers (140) to homogenize the melt. An air plate (70) is disposed between a backing plate (58) preferably housing the main manifold (56) and a manifold plate (54) preferably housing the sub-manifolds (52). The air plate (70) has a plurality of air channels (74) that communicate with valve gate nozzle actuators (90), which are received in actuator cavities (72) in the air plate (70). The air plate (70) is bolted to the manifold plate (54), and the backing plate (58) is bolted to the air plate (70) with bolting patterns not constrained by location of the main manifold (56) or sub-manifolds (52). The manifold system (50), as shown in FIG. 5, has better thermal and geometric balance, closer nozzle spacing, and better bolting for less plate bowing.

    摘要: An anti-biofouling seismic streamer casing (100,100′) is provided that is formed by a flexible tubing (110) coated with a layer of a two-part heat cured silicone elastomer (120). The seismic streamer casing (100, 100′) is formed by a method that includes steps of providing a flexible tubing (200) and pre-treating the outer surface of the tubing (210). Two parts of a two-part silicone elastomer are then mixed together (220). The method also includes coating the mixed two-part silicone elastomer on the flexible tubing (230), and heating the flexible tubing to cure the coating (240).

    摘要: A seal inspector and a method of inspecting a seal are described. A seal inspector includes an eddy current sensor for detecting changes in an eddy current within a lid seal of a can. The eddy current sensor includes a signal line for creating a magnetic field, which induces the eddy current. The induced eddy current generates a magnetic field that acts on the alternating current and as a consequence produces an eddy current response. A signal processing control unit receives the eddy current response and determines whether a value associated with the eddy current has surpassed a threshold value. If the associated value has surpassed the threshold value, the can may be ejected from a can conveyor system.

    摘要: An apparatus is provided for distributing content objects to a personalized access point of a user over a network-based environment. The apparatus includes a server, a selection client, and a retrieval client. The server includes a database operative to store indicia associated with at least one content object and further operative to store user identifiers as well as information about which content objects have been selected by a particular user. The selection client communicates with the server via a communication link. The selection client is configured to allow a user to select content objects to add to a personalized access point by submitting an indicia and a user identifier to the server. The retrieval client communicates with the server over a communication link allowing a user to retrieve information from a personalized access point. In response to the submission of the indicia and user identifier, at least one of: (a) a content object, and (b) a link to a content object are added to the personalized access point of the particular user and the particular user can retrieve the content object through the personalized access point from the retrieval client. A method is also provided.

    摘要: A braiding extruder for making braided products from extrusible material. The braiding extruder includes a first rotatable member, a second rotatable member, a rotatable member driving system, and an orifice blocking arrangement. The rotatable members each include a pair of orifices for extruding a strands of extrusible material therethrough. The orifices are fluidly coupled to a source of pressurized extrusible material. The driving system rotates the first rotatable member clockwise about a first axis of rotation, and rotates the second rotatable member counter-clockwise about a second axis of rotation, parallel to the first axis of rotation. The orifice blocking arrangement selectively permits and prevents the extrusion of the extrusible material from the orifices. The orifices, the driving system, and the orifice blocking arrangement extrude and braid at least three strands of extrusible material. The braiding extruder forms a visually attractive product which reaps the benefits of the "hand made" appeal normally associated with braiding.
