    摘要: A nonvolatile memory apparatus includes a separate controller circuit and memory circuit. The controller circuit is fabricated on a first integrated circuit chip. The controller circuit includes a plurality of charge pump circuits, a system interface logic circuit, a memory control logic circuit, and one or more analog circuits. The memory circuit is fabricated on a second integrated circuit chip and includes a column decoder, a row decoder, a control register, and a data register. A memory-controller interface area includes a first plurality of die bond pads on the first integrated circuit chip and a second plurality of die bond pads on the second integrated circuit chip such that the first and second integrated circuit chips may be die-bonded together. A single controller circuit may interface with a plurality of memory circuits, thus further reducing overall costs as each memory circuit does not require a dedicated controller circuit.

    摘要: An electronic device includes a base, a touch screen display, a shape memory alloy and operational components. The touch screen display is connected to the base and moveable relative to the base and includes a display device and a touch-sensitive input surface overlying the display device and connected to a controller for determining a touch event to the touch-sensitive input surface. The shape memory alloy is disposed between the base and the display device and is configured to change shape in response to conduction of an electric current to cause movement of the display device relative to the base. The operational components include a processor between the base and the touch screen display. The processor is operatively connected to the controller, the display device and the shape memory alloy for causing conduction of current through the shape memory alloy in response to the touch event, resulting in movement of the display relative to the base.

    摘要: A handheld electronic communication device features an optically based user input device and navigation tool. In one embodiment, the optically based user input device features a translucent domed lens and a light source to illuminate a user's finger as the user slides his finger over the domed lens. In another embodiment, the optically based user input device features a translucent ball that the user rotates. In both embodiments, optical means are used to measure movement of the user's finger and translate that movement into a navigational command to the handheld electronic communication device. The optically based user input device is further configured such that an entry command is entered by depressing the optically based user input device.

The touch screen display is connected to the base and includes a display device and a touch-sensitive overlay disposed on the display device. The touch-sensitive overlay comprises at least one capacitive touch sensor circuit layer disposed on a substrate and patterned with discrete circuits. Ones of the discrete circuits provide associated discrete touch-sensitive areas on an outer touch surface of the touch screen display. The operational components include a controller connected to the touch-sensitive overlay and a processor connected to the controller and the display device for providing a graphical user interface.
